From Crystal Sky Pictures:

Based on the long running and highly successful Namco video game franchise of the same name, Tekken is a high-octane, action packed thriller written for the screen by Alan McElroy (Spawn, The Marine), directed by Dwight Little (Anacondas, Murder at 1600) with fight choreography by Dion Lam (Spider-Man 2, Doom, Red Cliff)

Set in 2039, the film promises non-stop high flying action as the greatest fighters from around the world come to compete in the last and greatest sporting event of all time, the Fist Tournament. After World Wars destroy much of civilization as we know it, the remaining territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations the mightiest of which is Tekken. In order to keep the masses down, Tekken sponsors the Iron Fist Tournament in which fighters compete to the death for ultimate glory and receive a lifetime of stardom and wealth.

We are introduced to this violent world through the eyes of Jin Kazama, a street fighter that enters the tournament in order to avenge the death of his mother that he blames upon Tekken's powerful and controlling Chairman, Heihachi Mishima. He knows that the only way to get close enough to Mishima to kill him is to win the tournament. With the help of Lucas, an ageing Iron Fist Champion and fight trainer, Jin makes his way through the tournament, but in doing so, he begins to uncover his own past and inner demons as well as exposing a dark underbelly to Tekken that threatens the very existence of humanity.

With futuristic and imaginative sets, a compelling story, and fight sequences combining fighting styles from all over the world.
Tekken is in line to become one of the greatest action films of all time.

@LEEE: Man, I finally got around to watching that Dragonball movie all of the way through after starting and stopping it FIVE TIMES and I must say that it was truly a pile of what you said. Can't believe I bothered to finish it.

@tea: I wouldn't be surprised. I still can't find a release date for it. IMDB has it listed as "2010" only. I gotta say, it would suck hard to spend so much time making something and then having it go straight to DVD or not come out at all.

I can relate: I spent five months writing a four-issue comic book series for Bluewater and the artist has so far taken two years to draw two-and-a-half issues of the four issues that I wrote. If he ever gets around to completing it, I'm worried the publisher may just scrap it because it's taken so long. It's chapping.

your info is off, Dion Lam is NOT the fight choreographer, it's Cyril Raffeli. There's even video of him doing the choreography on youtube or something.

@ deadpool87: Cyril Raffeli is part of Dion Lam's Stunt team and he plays Eddie.

I've seen it, all be it in subtitles. I have to say that I liked it. Close to the original story, but had a few tweaks in there and some key characters were missing... all in all, I thought it was pretty good.

A movie like this I watch strictly for the martial arts and choreography. Can't say it will suck because I haven't seen anything but a poster yet.

@anil, thats exactly what i was thinking.

This poster looks cheesy, since i heard of it i think this movie will fail badly. I would much rather prefer a mortal kombat movie (im not taking that trailer for mk, its practically a different movie altogether) beside mortal kombat would be better, just like the games were :P

make mine mortal kombat

This movie has a spectacular cast of Martial artist so the fights are gonna make Street Fighter: TLCL look like crap. But the acting from that movie should dwarf this one lol.

@ Brent Sprecher: Yeah what I said! lol

God I hope this movie doesn't suck. the game has such a great storyline and cast of characters, and it's great how everyone is tied together somehow. Jin Kazama is a badass and should be on the level of Mario in my opinion.

The poster looks ok. The movie is gonna fail. Im shocked no 1 here has talked about that new Mortal Kombat short that just came out. It looks promising. The director made the short to pitch it to warner bros. A couple of changes to the characters but it looks good.
