Mark Millar's Superior #2

A message from Mark Millar:

"The comic is out next Wednesday and you can read the whole thing then. This and issue three are maybe the most fun I've had writing a superhero book. Once you read them, you'll realise why they appealed to me as a Richard Donner fan. Anyway, this scene is where Superior goes to see his old best friend and explain what the Hell just happened. Then, naturally, they go down the woods to test out the powers. Hope ye like:"

I just read the first issue of Superior and it's another Millar classic. Like he did with Nemesis, Millar takes another classic superhero archetype and puts his own spin on it. Take Captain Marvel and Prime, mix in a bit of The Last Action Hero, and top off with a healthy pile of swear words and that's Superior!

Cool find, Brent. I'll check it out.
I haven't seen this, though.
Costume's a bit like Magneto.
Perhaps it has something to do with the story on the first ish.

Art's not my cup of tea, though.
But the coloring is good.

I enjoyed issue one as well and read everything millar writes,(tho I gave up on the ultimate universe) but the most important comic since 1938? Really?

@Orehrepus: Yeah, definitely shades of Magneto with those weird half-sphere things on it. I think his belt is a bit WWF or WWE or whatever professional wrestling is called these days.

@teabag: Yeah, right?!?

@the420fanboy: Yeah, that's Millar for you: FULL of hype. I also gave up on The Ultimates.

I liked the first issue a lot and am intrigued where Millar might take things from here. Really stunning art as well. Nemesis remains my favourite piece of his creator owned work though! :)

In my opinion he should finish War Heroes before he keeps making new titles, Especially now that Tony Harris is finished with Ex Machina

Grif- Unfortunately, i have to agree LOL

Personally, i prefer McNiven's art over Yu's. But that's just me.

I had not read an ongoing comic in years (over a decade) because I have been catching up on older comics I could never read in my youth because they were not available in my country. Well, I picked up Nemesis and Superior and while superior was kinda bland, I really got into Nemesis. That is one character I want to see on the big screen in a hurry!

Adrien Brody for Nemesis!

Millar is a genius. His work on the Ultimates was amazing, too bad Loeb took over the title and frakked it up so bad. Nemesis is very good and can't wait to read Superior # 2.

Anil- THANK YOU!!! God you know i hate me some JrJr!!! Thing is, i haven't read Nemesis yet but i did flip through the pages and i loved his art. I guess it must help that it's actually the first stuff i saw of his. "Civil war and oldman logan" are on the list also ;)
