Is Frank Grillo Teasing His Return For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?

Frank Grillo played ruthless HYDRA agent Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but has so far remained tight-lipped about a possible appearance in next year's Civil War. Does a cryptic tweet released by the actor reveal he'll be appearing in the much-anticipated film?

By TheBritAvenger - Apr 07, 2015 01:04 AM EST

Many people feel that Frank Grillo's turn as HYDRA sleeper agent Brock Rumlow was one of the best parts of last year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Given that his transformation into the masked assassin Crossbones was teased at the end of that film, it's been assumed that he'll re-appear in the sequel. However, the actor himself has thus far refused to confirm anything. But now, Grillo has posted a tweet that might just tease his role in the sequel. Do you think this confirms he'll be appearing in the film?

A -war is on the horizon. And it's gonna be a free for all.

I think he's going to get some sort of upgrade in order to get even with Cap. Maybe a variation of the SS serum?

I think Rumlow will get an upgrade in abilities after he suffered those injuries in Cap 2.
His badly burned face covered in skull mask along with some bad ass weaponry,Crossbones will be a serious threat.

The one thing ridiculous about Winter Soldier is how Winter Soldier's mechanic arm knocked Cap's shield out of his hand, but Mjolnir in Avengers didn't.

@Cap1 This is a moot point and people need to learn that. Thor struck Cap's shield downward meaning Cap was pressed against the floor. The WS punched Cap's shield while he was standing upright meaning there was nothing to stop him from being pushed backwards.

@Cap1

WS didn't knock Cap's shield out of his hand.

Free for all...maybe what he means by this is that with him being a merc, the world govts are allowing a free for all in terms of capturing any heroes and superpowered individuals for registration....if you have the means and expertise to hunt them down and capture them, do it ...or if the govts sanction you not do so. Crossbones was never putted as HYDRA to the public. He could pose as a mercenary who's hired by the world govts to aid in capturing Cap but he wants him dead...has his own agenda

Loved how Winter Soldier was pretty much an origin story for Rumlow. With everything else going on, it was pretty amazing the Russo brothers managed to dedicate plenty of screentime for him. You bet he's going to have a role in Civil War.

It's going to be great seeing Grillo once more and better than ever as Crossbones in Civil War.

Can we try and get this to main? This is probably the biggest news of the day. It's basically confirmation that Crossbones will appear in Civil War! Can you guys hit the like button and try and boost this to the front page?

@Cap1

Or how a rocket launcher can send Cap flying, but Mjolnir doesn't do a damn thing.

@TheBritAvenger The thumbs-up feature doesn't work anymore unfortunately, since so many users kept thumbing up the dumbest troll articles and sending them to main. We just have to wait and see if @NateBest or an editor like @KingPatel sees it and deems it worthy enough.

No offense, but y'all worry and obsess about the absolute most trivial, unimportant things. In the long run, how Cap reacts to a hit from Mjolnir, the Winter Soldier, and a rocket launcher is utterly, utterly meaningless.

@Ramiel

All of the force of Thor's blow was focused on the shield (and thus neutralized by the vibranium).

But Cap was actually thrown back by the explosion/expansion of air directly in front of and around the shield.

...

Anyone buying this?

What about the "explosion/expansion" that Mjolnir caused? It knocked down all of the surrounding trees.

@Ramiel

That's just because trees are made of wood, and wood has the the color yellow in it, and Asgardian magic works extra well on the color yellow...

Actually, I was joking before, but now that I think about it, if I remember correctly, in Avengers Cap did have his feet firmly planted and Thor's blow came from above, whereas the rocket in the Winter Soldier hit him from the side. It's possible he took roughly equal amounts of force, but the angle made the difference.

Of course the real answer is that the shield behaves however they need it to behave scene to scene. It stops some bullets dead, but ricochets others. There's no excusing that one.

"Of course the real answer is that the shield behaves however they need it to behave scene to scene. It stops some bullets dead, but ricochets others. There's no excusing that one."

Actually I have a justification for that. It basically depends on the angle of impact. Notice it didn't ricochet the bullets from the minigun that hit it dead on, but it did ricochet the bullets when he tilted it to the side.

Really the only thing that didn't make sense to me was the rocket launcher thing, because Cap seemed to be relatively braced for the impact.
