The much-awaited sequel to Robert Rodriguez's
Sin City is finally in the works, and so far, an official poster and release date has been given to us, and while we await a trailer, there will probably be much more from Rodriguez about his latest Comic Book Adaptation. Rodriguez gave some brief words about his latest installment, delving deeper into the world of
Sin City. At first, he talked about hiring the right writer to do the job, none other than William Monahan(
The Departed) which has reportedly produced two more stories for the sequel that aren't in Frank Millar's beloved book.
“I wanted to hire somebody really great to come in on this,” he says. “People have been waiting for this movie for so long, we can’t miss.”
While asking about the female to take the lead role in Robert's latest film, his only words were:
“She is completely diabolical with no mercy,” he says. “People love that story so much.”
To close his statements about the film, he appearently made a strict promise to the audiences who loved the first film and have been anticipating a sequel.
“I know we can go further,” he says. “The audience wants more and they’ll definitely get what they want.”
So, if the director got it right the first time with
Sin City, and promises that he will get it right again, then it is probably safe to say that we will get another great CBM from Mr. Rodriguez, because he obviously knows what he's doing.
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is set for release on October 4th, 2013.
