TDKR: Tom Hardy Initially Felt He Wasn't The Best Choice For Bane
While attending the premiere of Chris Nolan's final Bat-film, Hardy spoke to MTV about how he felt he wasn't right to play the villainous role of the back-breaking Bane when given the part. Watch the interview after the jump..
From Hardy on his first impressions of portraying Bane:
When I first heard of Bane, I think, like a lot of people who aren't Batman-centric in a way, I didn't know who he was, so it had to be explained who he was, and then I looked at him and I saw his luchador mask and his way-tight wrestling pants and his huge muscles. I thought, 'He must have got the wrong man, because I can't play ... I don't play that.'
The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan(The Prestige, Inception) and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, and Anne Hathaway. The film will be unleashed upon audiences on the 20th of this month.
