In an interview with Frank Boyle, Robert Pattinson admitted to wanting to play Magneto someday. Here is the Q&A.

Q: Have you thought about playing a superhero sometime in the future?

Robert Pattinson: Well yeah [laughs], I think everyone wonders about that sometimes. My little cousin tells me I look like Magneto so I guess thats who I should probably play [laughs].

Really? Does he make his career decisions based on his little cousin? Anyway, I bet he has no clue about the "X-Men Origins: Magneto" film in the works, does he?

Let the Twilight bashing begin! I don't think he could pull off Magneto. Not sinister enough.

I don't remember a story arc were Magnito gets continually slapped in the face with a big floppy donkey dick... but he'd be great for that role!

We shouldnt even spread RUMORS like this. if Warner Bros. Owned the xmen/magento franchise I wouldnt care. They make decision through some thought. Fox would say "hmmm WELL Twlight New Moon did just make 120 million dollars...I think... Just MAYBE...this will get us back on track with ppl who love xmen and twilight girl and guy demographic!!! We should cast Him as the young magneto" and then Magneto is back on track and were back where we started with BAD DECISIONS. let this DIE!

He better stick to his romantic vampires and leave superheroes to people with a better movie record, not to mention someone who can act.

i don't think he's right for the role either, but come on. so what if he was in twilight. does everyone forget that heath ledger played an ACTUAL gay person in a movie?? sure twilight is terrible, but it shouldn't condemn the actors that played in it.

i've never seen this guy act though, so maybe he's a terrible actor??

I'd rather see Gilbert Godfried (sp?) or Sylvester Stallone as Magneto. Either of them have FAR more in common with Magneto than this fag does.

lol @ Keven. "rehanditarded" sounds like a very unhappy state of affairs.

I can't imagine what his little cousin could possibly be talking about.. but it doesn't matter. It's a preposterous notion

Why not make a career decision on what his cousin said? Its a good idea. I dont knock him for twilight. So what if the twilight serious gets girls wet or takes vampires to a new place to do that. I think Pattinson would make a great magneto.

As much as Twilight is to be loathed, maybe he's actually a good actor? I don't know. I haven't seen Twilight, nor do I plan to. Nor have I seen him in any role.
Maybe he can act! I'm not making the same mistake I made with Ledger upon news he was playing Joker.

Logan, that is classic! LOL

Ok, he also needs to put on some mass.

Wow, there's an aweful lot've Pattinson hate in here, lol. I can't say anything since i've never seen Twilight. He did a decent enough job in his minor role in Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire.

I don't see the guy as Magneto, but I don't see a problem with him being an actor in roles outside of Twilight. It'd be good for him, lol.

And LEEE - Having read both the Twilight & Harry Potter series, I gotta say, don't lump those 2 together. The Harry Potter series was an excellent set of books! The Twilight saga was not.....it was just boring.....and...boring, and as boring & bad as it was, the ending of the last book was actually dissapointing.

(I read Harry Potter because I wanted to. I read Twilight because I worked at a bookstore & decided to see what all the hype was about if you're wondering why I read it. :) )

loganoneil - 12/11/2009, 11:51 AM
You don't have to justify yourself, Rune - I too read (part) of the 'Twilight' series (I could only stomach the first two books). I'm a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse series (LOVE 'True Blood'!) and was curious to see for myself what all the stink was about. 'Stink' - an appropriate word, 'cause the stuff I read sure did that!
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/11/2009, 11:51 AM
haha, an actual gay person CDB! Yes, but he played the part WELL. Pattinson is a legitimate hack folks. The guy is about as convincing an actor as Chris Klein.

logan - Yeah, I suffered through all of it. Once I start a series, I like to finish. But it was not good. The best book was probably New Moon and it really wasn't that great. I havn't read the Sookie STackhouse series, but I've heard good things, looking to check it out at some point.

Okay, so yeah, I dig on all the Twilight hate. I've never read or seen it, but it is totally a girly thing that has gotten way annoying.

HOWEVER, if you could see past that for a sec, I see no reason why he would be worse than anyone else. I've seen nothing to make me think he's a bad actor, and he looks about right.

The only problem would be all the tween girls going ga-ga over Magneto. That would be annoying, but hey, it would also get the movie more money, right?!
