According to Contact Music, Kirsten Dunst is being written out of Spider-Man 4 and Anne Hathaway will be the new central love interest of the film series. Anne Hathaway is rumored to be playing Black Cat or Vulturess, neither have been confirmed. In fact, Hathaway has not been confirmed.

A source says, "The plan is for her character to be written out, probably by dying. "Anne will take over as Peter Parker's new love interest for this project and for Spider-Man 5 and 6 which are being written now. Anne's in L.A. doing a lot of meetings on the movie, because filming is right around the corner."

I know that Kirsten Dunst is so-so to Spidey fans. Some love her, some hate her. It intrigues me though that Hathaway will likely be Black Cat in all three of the next films... how will they make it so that she sticks around?

cookiepussproduction: My theory has been that considering Vulture and Black Cat are looking to be the villains (heck, I even did an article once talking about certain things I picked up on and made the connections), and Felicia Hardy was said to be Adrien Toomes daughter, which makes me think that The Vulture will be the main and only villain in Spider-Man 4, Felicia becomes Black Cat in Spider-Man 5, then she returns for Spider-Man 6?

There isn't one damn thing I've heard about this movie that has made any sense whatsoever.

If true, this is probably the worst. Nobody likes Dunst as MJ, so what do they do instead of recasting her? Kill off another iconic character. Freakin genius!!!

I could care less about her leaving. Thats still no reason to kill MJ. Practically every other actress out there is better for the part.

Just write her out by having her move to LA to persue acting. usher in Gwen Stacey as the new love interest and have her killed by GG in spier-man 5. how hard is that?

How bizarre. If he does that Vultress thing he's a couple of cans short of six pack. It would be a flaming arrow through the heart of an already ailing franchise...

Come the Hell on, there has to be some other way to write one of these films.

Finally a chance to get a decent actress for Marvels version of Lois Lane, but instead they kill her.

Well, I'd be much happier seeing Black Cat as the love interest rather than MJ (especially the version played by Dunst) but i dont think killing her off is the best idea - a greiving Peter is an incredibly boring sounding idea, lol!

honestly how hard is it to make a spider-man movie? a wealth of bad guys and supporting characters THAT ACTUALLY MATTER TO WHO PETER PARKER IS AS A CHARACTER. vulture is not one of them. c'mon Sony, you can do better, your electronics are very good! why can't your movies be?
