i wonder if they'd bring in the Lady Deathstrike storyline. although i thought her name was uriko.

If they can approach it like "The Last Samurai" this movie could have monstrous potential. Of course we get Silver Samurai and Mariko and possibly the Hand, but we know Fox will add a few more at least. Who can they add without pissing us off? Shiro Yoshida aka Sunfire for starters, though I can't immediately think of anymore than that.

a long time ago when i first found out the japanese storyline and realized he wasn't going to where the mask in the x-men franchise, i always thought if they do use the japanese saga in a movie the mask could be like one of those epic, elaborate helmets they use in addition to other tons of elaborately decorated armor. i mean, i don't know how it would look in the real world on him, but its a cool thought that he could wear it at least once in the movies. And being in japan, around many other people with masks and helmets on wouldn't make him stand out and appear to corny.

What Jackman is referring to when he says "The Japan Story" is a four issue limited series that came out in 1982 that ABSOLUTELY REDEFINED the character and made him into who we know him as today. That is THE definitive Wolverine story line and making a movie about it is a brilliant idea.

What I think they should do is combine that story line with the also awesome Kitty Pryde & Wolverine mini series which illustrated part of where Wolverine got his incredible martial arts skills. In that one Shadowcat runs away to Japan and gets kidnapped, drugged, and brainwashed by Wolverine's old ninja master, Ogun. Wolverine is amsot killed by his old pal Kitty, and then squares off against Ogun in the end and wins, showing that his fighting skills to be higher than even some of the greatest masters.

That would be a great movie.

Cool, you go make it Hugh and ill damn well watch it! I like the Japan saga but its not the greatest Wolvie story out there..sure it would work great as another prequel to the X movies, but id much rather another story set after the events of X3. Meltdown would be class, its very cinematic anyway. Introduce Havok(whos always been coloer than his gimp brother!) and i wouldnt even mind some liberties with whoever else they want to bring in..have to have Sabertooth back after Schriber nailed the character in origins

A wolverine/Havok movie would be great....as long as they don't have Alex wearing the costume with the funny headdress...

maby not live action but a animated film would kickass. If only Bret Ratner hadn't [frick]ed everything up we would be able to have another X-men film. If they go on and make a new one they should ressurect Cyclops Jean and the Proffesor, or if they make a reboot. Put Cyclops in his rightful position as leader of the Xmen.

Here you go:

X-Men IV: "X-Force"

Start off the movie in the future (Days of Future Past). Have a grizzled war vet (Cable) running around with an older Storm, Franklin Richards, and Collossus. They're running through a rubble filled, futuristic New York City landscape from Sentinal probes. They make their way to the location they were looking for when a much older Wolverine pops out of the shadows. They enter a very familiar building (Baxter Building), and Franklin reminisces about his parents for a moment, noticing a picture in a frame on the wall.
(*Quick note: Fox owns the rights to the Fantastic Four, and if you remember the scene with Mystique in the first X-Men movie where she's messing around on the computer, Franklin has a file with his name on it!)
Then they're attacked! Everyone but Wolvie and Cable die, Franklin gets blasted, Storm gets impaled, Collossus gets smashed. As they run to the final location, where Forge meets them, and Wolverine tells Cable of the final plan... Find Cypher in the past before he was killed by the original Sentinal wave, and stop them from starting the Mutant Massacre!

(*Now why Cypher, you ask? Because he has the ability to communicate in any language, with anyone... That includes MACHINES!)

Flash forward to the future, Cable's searching for Cypher, he gathers 2 individuals from our present time who he trusts enough to help him out: Domino and Deadpool!

The X-Men are still mourning the loss of Jean, Scott, and Xavier. They start to investigate the rumor of a government funded program designed to hunt and capture mutants called the "Sentinal Directive." Wolverine runs into Cable, and they decide to split up into two teams: One to find Cypher (Cable, Wolverine, Domino, and Deadpool), and one to find Cameron Hodge and Bolivar Trask (Led by Storm, Collossus, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Rogue, and Kitty Pride). Bolivar and Cameron were hired by the government to design the Sentinals and set them loose to "capture" mutants. (Instead of round them up like they were supposed to do, Hodge and Trask are actually members of a religous/political group called the "Purifiers", and set the Sentinal units out to kill all of the mutants on the planet!)
Wolverine and Cable end up running into a young Cypher, just discovering his abilities. Meanwhile, Storm and crew end up finding eerie references to a pending "Mutant Apocolype" while attempting to locate a precognative mutant named Irene Adler (Destiny). Rogue becomes convinced by a repentant Mystique (now human) that Destiny's diaries hold the key to finding what they are looking for. The supposed "Apocolypse" comes at the hand of some unknown mutant, and all that they can decipher is that he cannot be stopped.
They also run into a couple government liaisons to the White House that help them in their search of Hodge and Trask, enter Valerie Cooper and Forge. These two not only help the X-Men find Hodge and Trask, but they also serve as a link to the next movie. (And the movie's opening sequence.)
The movie ends with the Sentinals getting set loose after the population of Manhattan, they cannot distinguish between humans and mutants any longer, and start indiscriminantly killing everyone. Cypher finally realizes his true potential, cameo's abound, big fight finish...
Cable says goodbye, goes back to a future that's supposed to be perfect, finds it almost the same as when he left. In a state of confusion and disbelief, he is surprised when Wolverine jumps out from behind the rubble, Cable confused asks "What's going on? Why hasn't anything changed?", and Wolverine whispers softly, "Apocolypes".
End of Movie...

This leads into the next X-Movie:

X-Men V: "X-Factor"

You introduce Havok, and Polaris. Sinister gets to be the main antagonist, then you introduce Apocolypse at the end. Valerie Cooper and Forge return as the liaison to the White House. Bring back Madrox, and add in a newly repowered Mystique, Wolverine, Rogue, Iceman, Angel, Beast, and Quicksilver to round the group.

First off, ONLY problem with putting the "Days of Future Past" storyline to film is that it's way too close to "The Terminator" and the fact that there are 3 new movies from that franchise coming out over the next few years I doubt they'd do it due to the similarities.

(Side note: I'm almost positive that the original comic story line of "Days of Future Past" had a huge influence of James Cameron while he was writing "The Terminator" because it hit the newsstands in 1981, which was right when James Cameron was writing it.)

I came up with a way less-chaotic way to write the next 3 X-movies. I'm not saying that I don't like yours, what I'm saying is that it's way too much change from the previous 3 movies to the point where I doubt FOX would do it. I also found an acceptable way to fix some of the F-ups without rebooting it. (Don't forget-- the major problem with your story is that according to the events in "X3," CABLE CAN'T EXIST!!!)

I'll break down a few of my major concepts that would be able to be done based on the world created in the first 3 films. I won't do it in the order that the events would happen in the film, necessarily, I'll just put what events should happen in each.

"X4: X-Tinction Agenda"
-Moira McTaggert contacts Storm and Wolverine and they fly to Muir Island to find Professor X in his new body. While there, we also learn that Moira had been researching the cure which was used in "X3." We learn that it was not stable and therefore was not a permanent fix to any mutant who had already had the X-gene completely throughout their DNA. For example, any mutant who had already gone through puberty and had been given the cure would eventually regain their abilities. (This allows for the return of Rogue if they feel it necessary... and the returns of Magneto and Mystique.)

-Beast is working in the Senate trying to prevent a bill from being passed following Magneto's actions in "X3" which would allow for the creation of the Sentinels, which are already being created secretly anyway, but WAY more powerful than they are being described. OR the bill being pushed for involves the creation of a special government-run army specifically to monitor the actions of mutants and capture them whenever they feel necessary without due process. We later find out the man who is working to have this bill passed is Apocalypse in disguise.

-We somehow see a flashback scene to immediately after Jean is killed in "X2." We see Sinister finding her body. (Perhaps the scene is shown through Sinister's mind while Professor X is reading it with Cerebro.) We learn that Sinister brought Jean to his lab, cloned her (making Madelyn Pryor) used the clone to lure Scott to Alkali Lake, kidnapped him as well and then we learn that it was Madelyn Pryor who was The Phoenix. (Hey, the F'ed up the rest of the story, why not F that up too??? At least now we can have Cable!)

-While at Muir Island, Banshee (who would be a scientist there) joins the team. We also learn that they have a spy working in their lab, unknown to them. This could either also be Apocalypse but if the story made more sense then it could be someone who Sinister had planted there.

-We see Genosha, which at first glance appears to be a safe-haven for mutants. We later see that it is a place where mutants are being used as slaves and are being forced to build Sentinels in a monstrous factory under ground. We would then learn that it is Cameron Hodge who has been behind the creation of Genosha. Later on we learn that he had been working for and aided by Apocalypse without knowing. (Apocaylpse will only be teased and have very minor cameos in this film.)

-Once the team is back in New York with Xavier, the current team consists of Wolverine, Storm, Iceman, Angel, Colosus, Nightcrawler, Banshee and Kitty Pryde. Beast is also a current member but spends the majority of his time working with the Senate.

-While using Cerebro, Professor X learns that Scott and Jean are alive. The team is assembled to go and rescue them. The rescue and battle with Sinister and his mutants would be the climax of this film. It could potentially be done in the Savage Land if they felt it necessary, but would not need to be done there.

-We see that Mystique is one of the slaves in Genosha, but we eventually learn that it was no mistake that she is there-- she was sent there by Magneto to try to find out if it was legit or not. (Both she and Magneto would have very small roles in this film.) OR she could just be there without being captured but sneaking around while disguised.

-The movie ends with Genosha still in existence but Sinister has been defeated-- although not necessarily killed-- and Scott & Jean return to the team. We know that Magneto is aware that Genosha is not what it appears to be and is working on a plan. We also know that Apocalypse is lurking and has a master plan which has yet to be revealed. And obviously there is much more dialogue, story, action, etc. This is just a very basic outline.

"X5: I have no idea"
(This movie will not go into as much detail.)
-Enter: Cable. Appearing on Genosha from the future, the soldier is sneaking around the island looking for his nemesis, Apocaylpse.

-Sentinels secretly begin to be dispersed at night to hunt and capture mutants for Genosha.

-MAYBE some members of the team (Scott, Jean and some others) have a side-plot where they are still involved with Sinister.

-Other members of the team go to Genosha to investigate something odd which Professor X feels but cannot explain while trying to read the minds of some of the mutants of Genosha.

-Once it is discovered by the team that Genosha isn't what it seems (perhaps some are attempted to be captured?), all-out war begins on the island. Sentinels are unleashed. HUGE battle. And just when the team appears to be outnumbered...

-Enter: Magneto. Using his powers to unlock the cells, remove the controlling devices, etc., he frees all of the slaves to aid them in their battle. HUGE fight scenes. Colosus is ripping legs off of Sentinels, Wolverine is slashing them left and right, Magneto-- in his bubble-- is flying around tossing them into tall buildings, Iceman is freezing them, etc. As Macksimus said the other day on a different post, "the same kind of explosiveness and scale of the 'Transformer' movies."

-Cable is in the lower levels searching for Apocalypse. Perhaps he finds him and they battle, but not necessarily.

-Apocalypse escapes as the island is destroyed, as does Cameron Hodge. (Cameron is still unaware who/what Apocalypse is, as he has yet to see the man he works for in a form other than human.) Later, the 2 meet up elsewhere in the world, which is yet another Sentinel factory and also a lab of Apocalypse.

-Angel has a love interest throughout the film (maybe Rogue is back at the mansion?) but feels that his appearance is the reason why he can't get the person to fall for him. At the end of the film we see him leaving the mansion, perhaps after a news story on the TV which shows that there is another cure for the X-gene in Europe somewhere and volunteers are welcome. He leaves "X5" as Angel. The next time we see him (in "X6") he will be The Archangel of Death.

-Somehow, somewhere Cable reveals the stories of his future to the team (maybe he returns to the mansion, maybe after the battle on Genosha they speak?). We only VERY vaguely learn of Cable's origin. Professor X reads his mind to see that he speaks the truth, and also learns Cable's secret, which he keeps. We learn that Apocalypse has a plan to destroy the world. We do not know the details of the plan but we know that it is a result of the Sentinels being unleashed, mutants being enslaved and Apocaylpse and his army of Horsemen destroying everything. This is the cliffhanger ending.

"X6: ????"
-The debut of Archangel and the Horsemen.

-Huge battle scenes all over the globe.

-More dissention among the Senate over mutant rights.

-Magneto fights alongside the X-Men.

-The final battle with Apocaylpse.

-CHAOS! CHAOS! CHAOS!

The way you described how Apocalypse should be mysterious and vague and not shown until later was exactly what I meant-- it just might not have been clear that he wouldn't be introduced til later in the film since I needed to mention how he related to certain parts of the story as the parts came up. I would really just have him as a teaser for "X5" with just references and hints to the fact that he was there, without any real proof until the end. But yes, exactly what you said.

And I, too, always loved the ancient Egyptian/"Raiders of the Lost Arc"/"Stargate" aspect of Apocalypse and would love to see it in a movie-- maybe a Cable spinoff would be the perfect place for that stuff, which again, I definitely love and agree that would look awesome, but I just couldn't fit it in and didn't want to cram in too much (since I think I pushed as much in already as possible!).

I love so many of the X-storylines and concepts but I tried to stick with stuff that FOX used so if they were to read this they wouldn't have any reason why they couldn't do it. So I tried to stick to 3 basic arcs that could be spread out over the course of all 3 films and all while being somewhat incorporated and intertwined: The Sentinels/Genosha, Sinister and Apocalypse.

I didn't mean to knock your story so I hope you didn't take it as an insult. Like I said, what I did was try to create a storyline with the world that they had already made that would follow the events without creating too much of a change in direction. Basically I tried to mold the best possible story out of what they gave me into something that I could be happy with if it was done in that way. And I tried to be realistic and accepted the fact that there is only so much that they could and would really be able to do. They already introduced almost all the characters that I used with the exception of Cable, Sinister & his Mauraders and Apocalypse. Even Banshee has a TINY cameo in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (he's the kid with the taped-shut mouth). And they could bring in Gambit, too, if they choose.

As far as the next X-movie being out around 2011-ish, that's almost exactly when "T5" will be coming out, too, and it just-so happens that "T5" will be centering around the time travel aspect, so again, ONLY from the business standpoint and not from the fan point of view I think it would be wise to not go too much into the post-apocalyptic future/sending soldiers back in time-aspects, just because it would be compared to the "Terminator" films WAY too much and would be accused of copying them.

And I'm definitely open to adding more, I just emphasized the parts that were most necessary to telling the overall story. Ok, let's get it done.

Yeah, it is really fun to imagine what could be done with these movies. I just re-read your story and saw a few cool little tidbits that I liked but didn't really notice the first time through. Like I said, the reason I went the way I did was to stay with their story and take it the next logical place-- it wasn't necessarily where I would have gone if I had a clean slate. What I tried to do was salvage the story of the third movie, which was a good movie but totally F'ed up the trilogy considering that so many main characters were killed and so many storylines were no longer possible as a result. (No chance for Cable to be born, any Sinister stories, Asteroid M, Rogue getting her super-strength, etc., etc., etc.)

I'm not even gonna get into how I would have done it if I could start from scratch. The fact of the matter is that they aren't gonna reboot it any time soon and it's the hand that has been dealt so rather than complain about it I tried to come up with a few solutions to fix the current story by using things that stayed true to the comics in a way.

What I personally would do instead of making "X4: X-Force" and "X5: X-Factor" would be to introduce several members briefly (I'll use my story as an example to illustrate the point but it wouldn't need to be done this way and with only my story) in scenes like the Genosha battle, where characters like Havok and Polaris could be brought in as slaves who were freed, and then I'd put them into a spinoff all of their own. And from FOX's standpoint it would make a lot of sense because rather than waste X-Factor in an X-Men movie which doesn't need anything like that to help it sell, they could branch out, making 3 more "X-Men" films and also an "X-Factor" movie and an "X-Force" film, maximizing their profits. And that's also me being greedy and wanting 5+ more films as opposed to only 2-3 more.

EXACTLY! That's what I want to see. I want buildings smashing with Magneto flying around in his bubble ripping Sentinels apart and throwing cars through their chests and then quickly shooting Wolverine 100 feet into the air so he can start slashing away at one's head. And I want Cyclops standing in the middle of the street decapitating one with an optic blast after Iceman freezes its feet to the ground and Gambit firing cards at another's throat after Iceman does the same for his. Then Banshee flies towards one that's in flight and aims his sonic scream at it and it vibrates and crumbles to pieces in mid-air, falling and smashing buildings as its parts fall towards Earth while Storm sends another crashing down after ripping it apart with a tornado. Then Colosus runs at one, leaps to its knee, runs up its upper thigh, grabs its waist and rips its torso from its hips. Maybe Angel would even carry Cyclops around so he could take some arial shots at a couple. Now this wouldn't be just two or three Sentinels, either-- I'm talking about 20+. I want to see Magneto completely unleashed, as well as Colosus-- two characters who are probably two of the most powerful in the X-Men universe but whose destructive powers have still yet to truly be captured in the films. That is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
