Fans of Tsukasa Hojo's works must be delighted. The City Hunters Ryo Saeba and Kaori Makimura are back in a new drama series.

This drama is set in modern day's Seoul and introduces some major changes from his manga counterpart and inspiration.

Korean star Lee Min-Ho is Lee Yoon-Sung, an employee of the Blue House's National Communication Network Team, and the beautiful Park Min-Young is Kim Na-Na, a young woman with a tragic past who works as a bodyguard in the Blue House and who falls in love with Lee.

Shooting is in progress in Thailand and actress Park Min-Young reveals the first photo taken from the set. The scene takes place in a flash-back where Kim Na-Na is still an high school student.

“Hello, this is high school student ‘Kim Nana’ from eight years ago. Oof, I have to go to work in two and a half hours, what to do!”

Set in the Tokyo of the 80's, the original City Hunter manga introduced the character of Ryo Saeba, a private detective, bodyguard and professional killer who accepts work from beautiful women with the hope of having sexual favours in return (which almost never happen). He works with Kaori Makimura, a young woman with a tragic past who hates his sexual perversions and often reasones with him... the hard way.

The manga was previously adapted in an unfaithful movie starring Jachie Chan in the title role, so fans are eager to see this new take on the City Hunter mythology.

City Hunter is set to be broadcasted from May, 25th 2011 on the SBS channel in South Korea.

Jackie Chan will always be my City Hunter. And his most accurate adaptation of Street Fighter in live action.

To be honest, I love Jackie Chan's City Hunter. I have great fun watching it. One of the best action-movie parody ever !

But this is not really a City Hunter movie, it's more Jackie doing his show with his usual character.

For the time being, the only real City Hunter for me is the animated version with Akira Kamiya's voice. So charismatic and so funny !

The new version, the story doesn't seem to faithful but maybe the spirit and the ambiance will be there. At least I hope !

For the fun, I found the original trailer and the american one of Jackie Chan's City Hunter. It's funny to see how the american trailer almost changes the ambiance of the movie.
