Bryan Singer Calls X-MEN: APOCALYPSE The "True Birth Of The X-Men"
According to director Bryan Singer, after several X-Men films from 20th Century Fox, X-Men: Apocalypse will finally see the "true birth of the X-Men." Comic book fans might be a bit skeptical of these words but we'll all find out if he's right on 05.27.16.
In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has revealed some interesting tidbits on the film; describing it as something of a finale of the six films that came before and a chapter that will give birth to the true X-Men.
"This is kind of a conclusion of six X-Men films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters. This is the true birth of the X-Men. This is how it happens."
X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in theaters on May 27, 2016. The concept art above features a scene of someone disturbing Apocalypse's regeneration chamber/tomb. Singer will be directing his fourth X-Men film in 16 years. Alexandra Shipp will play Storm, Tye Sheridan plays Cyclops, Sophie Turner stars as Jean Grey, Jennifer Lawrence returns as Mystique, as will James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Oscar Issac will play the film's titular villain. In addition, Kodi Smit-McPhee will play Nightcrawler and Olivia Munn has been cast as Psylocke. Hugh Jackman is rumored to make a cameo as Wolverine.
