Anna Paquin Still Wants To Play Rogue In Future X-MEN Movies

Anna Paquin reaffirms that she won't appear in Channing Tatum's Gambit while acknowledging that she's still up to play Rogue in future X-Men movies. "I would come back and do whatever. These are people I've known for half my life. I have a lot of love for my X-Men family."

The X-Men universe is bigger than ever these days. There's more X-Men: Apocalypse and more ensemble flicks that will surely follow. Then, there's solo spinoff films like Gambit, Deadpool and the final Wolverine film.  Fox is also developing separate TV shows centered around Professor X's son, Legion and the Hellfire Club. Given all the X-Men related projects coming down the pipeline, is there a chance that Anna Paquin's Rogue could pop up for a guest spot or cameo?  "I would come back and do whatever," said Paquin. She continued, "These are people I've known for half my life. I have a lot of love for my X-Men family. I realistically wouldn't really care what it was if they were getting the whole gang back together kind of thing. On a side note personally, I would really like to fly because flying's cool."

Paquin goes on to state in the interview, that she's completely fine that her character was cut from Days of Future Past, citing her trust in Bryan Singer's creative vision.  She also reaffirms previous comments that Rogue will not be appearing in the solo Gambit film.  With the Channing Tatum led feature switching director from Rupert Wyatt to Doug Liman, some X-fans were hoping the door would be opened for Rogue to appear but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Paquin is currently promoting The Good Dinosaur, which is currently playing  in North American theaters.

It's not going to happen.

Let it go.

Id be down for a X4 redemption though that'll never happen. The only way is if they go the standard X route and say screw continuity and have them all reunite at wolverines funeral.

Actually, I really think she should have been part of the Gambit movie.

She's an awful Rogue, but maybe that's more on Singer who can't develop anyone not named Wolverine, Mystique, Magneto, and Xavier.

Don't blame her. Singer and his writing partners wrote an awful Rouge.

This is Rogue

Maybe the worst butchering a much loved character by the X-Franchise, (which is saying something considering some of the other portrayals we've seen them do.)

Of course she would like to do it again, she got a paycheck to not do sheeit... Also she's probably hurting for some work right meow. Everyone kind of realized she can't act and she's got a cute face but nothing thats making people sit their butts in a theater for 2 and a half hours.
REBOOT, RECAST, SIGN NEW DIRECTOR AND WRITERS ...
Lets get a real Xmen movie.

Honestly, I don't think she is poorly cast as Rogue. Hell I don't feel anyone in the original Singer films is a miscast for their role.

I feel moreso that the characters in the first 2 Singer films are more miswritten than miscast.

When Marvel retains the rights, then we'll have Rogue. Paquin did ok with what she was given with Singer and Fox.

I think she looks the part, but was never really given the role. She was basically the shadowcat/jubilee sidekick figure to Wolverine for the first film and they never had a plan for her afterward. What a waste!!!!!

I thought she was good for the part, but it's not her fault for how the character was written. But looking at what they did with the character, it makes you wonder what could have been if Ms. Marvel was in the picture.

Yeah, no thanks. The disappointing Rogue Anna and Singer brought to the big screen still stings. Stick to True Blood or whatever it is you do now.

First off, wow at that gif. She effen fit!

Second, I agree with everyone here that she's not right for the role. When I was a teenager and knowing a lot about Rogue, I was trying to make it work for me when she was screen, thinking this was younger Rogue. I tried, but it was somewhat disappointing. Now as an adult, I really don't care for her version much. Someone on IMDb was defending Singer saying it was based on Rogue's original debut in the 80s when she had short hair and was a villain. Maybe it was but that seems dated and growing up with the sexy 90s version, I want that. It could be toned down so it's less of a stereotype but I want a cool southern belle who can fly! Sorry Anna & Bryan, I'd rather have this:

Ill never forgive Bryan and writers for what they have done with Rogue.

Two of the more lazy and uninspired people Ive seen working on comicbook movies

She's a good actress and fine for the part but since they have done absolutely nothing with the character I'm not exactly clamoring to see more of her.

If they set the Gambit movie in present day she could actually fit in there again without further hurting the continuity. That being said: please no! I'd have had nothing against her getting a shot at portraying the real Rogue at some point, but by now I feel everyone should accept that that ship has sailed.

As a Penn State fan, I'll root for MSU over Michigan or Ohio State any day. Penn State will be relevant again in 2 years once they've recovered from losing all those scholarships.

It makes me sad that we'll never see a good(let alone faithful) adaptation of Rogue, she's one of my favorite Marvel female characters of all time.
