Stephen Amell Says He Would Be Open To A Marvel Film

If Marvel ever wants to replace Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, it seems as if they would have an younger, obvious choice that's open to the possibility. Arrow's Stephen Amell says he's open to being in a Marvel film even though he was always a DC guy growing up.

While answering fan questions via his facebook page,  Arrow actor Stephen Amell responded to one particular question about whether he would consider crossing company lines to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film.  Said Amell (at the 7:05 mark in the video below), "Sure, why not?  I'm up for roles -- movie roles -- although I've never really read Marvel Comics and I was always a DC guy even before I was a DC guy. But it's not like if I got offered an awesome Marvel superhero, I'd be like 'No, I can't.'"

Amell also reiterated that he's unsure what the future holds for Arrow after next season because the show was always planned for five seasons. "We were always built to be a five year show, which is a very courageous thing to plan for when you're just in the pilot stages of something. But that doesn't mean that we can't go six or seven [seasons]. I can't really picture beyond that. But we'll see. I'm having a blast."

Kinda has a Danny Rand look about him, but he is too tall(6'1) and too old(34). Mike K. who plays Luke is 6'3" Whoever plays Danny needs to under 6' and not bulky. Otherwise it just won't like right.

He could replace Renner as Hawkeye if Renner was ever foolish enough to walk away. No offense to Renner, but Arnell might have been a better choice for Clint. Arnell has a swagger that Renner doesnt have.

Cant think of another hero he could play off top of my head.

I'm with @Jeight He seems like a very nice guy, but his acting.... There is a reason why people call him a "Michael Bay actor" (chosen for the looks and not talent)

not all actors in the MCU are good though.

e.g. dave bautista, vin diesel, sebastian stan, every actor in Agents of Shield, the actress who portrayed Robyn in Jessica Jones, ScarJo is hot but an overrated actress, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow and all the actors that played villains in MCU (except Vincent D'onofrio, Tom Hiddleston, and David Tennant)

Please, no. I prefer an actor with real emotions or facial expressions, at least.

True (although i disagree on Vin being a bad actor), with the right role, he could perhaps work in a Marvel movie. But this comment of his just feels like he is salty of not being a part of the DC movies... (Like he seems to been since the announcement of Ezra Miller)

Would have been cool to see the DC TV shows connected to the movies.

He's character was such a douchebag on Arrow that I stopped watching it twice, now I've come back his characters not too bad, credit to Amell though he is passionate about the role he plays and always interacts with the fans on social media.

He does probably get to make our with Megan Fox in the new Turtles movie so a win win situation really.

Except for Dave Bautista and Vin Diesel I disagree with others.

While I don't think he's a good actor I must say that I think his acting has improved a lot since season one. I could easily see him in a supporting role in a Marvel movie as long as he doesn't have to do much except physical stuff.

From all I've seen so far Stephen Amell just seems to be a genuinely great guy! I don't think anyone's going to throw any acting awards at him in the foreseeable future, but when it comes to being dedicated and simply likeable he's definitely playing major league.

Stick with DC bub. Don't let Marvel waste your talent on some throwaway role.

Maybe Black Bolt if Marvel are unable to "sell themselves" to Vin Diesel. Otherwise...no.

I personally like DC more because you can relate more to their films than Marvel... That being said it be dope to see Amell on a marvel film or maybe a DC film in the future. And I do agree that not all Marvel actors are that good some are just decent or ok.

Marvel should stick with casting actors who have range and charisma, sorry. He's too one dimensional. Besides that, there's no way I could ever see Marvel hiring him or why he would actually think he'd ever be up for playing a Marvel hero. Who asked this? It will never happen most likely. No offense to the guy...

Isn't everybody? The only people Marvel wont put a lot of money into are the ones actually writing and directing these films.

Stars aren't a problem.
