VIXEN Animated Series Will Get Second Season

The CW Seed is pleased with the viewership on the animated Vixen series and will give the digital show a second season. Megalyn Echikunwoke was recently confirmed to make the live-action transition to Arrowand will also return to voice the titular heroine.

New from The CW's  Winter TCA press tour continues to come fast and furious.  The latest news is that not only will Megalyn Echikunwoke be appearing as Vixen on Arrow, she also be back for a second season of The CW Seed digital short series.  Not timetable has been given for when the second season will air but it's likely that the show will return with the next seasons of Arrow and The Flash.
 

Vixen is executive produced by Arrow's Marc Guggenheim. The animated web series consisted of six, short episodes on The CW Seed. CSI and The 4000 actress Megalyn Echikunwoke plays the titular hero. Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Emily Bett Rickards and Carlos Valdes all voiced animated versions of their respective CW characters. The series followed McCabe after her parents were killed and she inherited the Tantu Totem - a magical item which bestows its wielder with the power of various animals.

Vixen was created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner in Action Comics #521 (1981). The animated web series occurs during season 3 of Arrow, between episodes 15 and 16.

Pretty cool, I hope they put it out on Blu Ray though. Since the online service they had it on cock-blocked anyone outside of the US I never got to see it, looked good..

This season will be on the this seasons Blu Ray's of both Flash and Arrow.

"Show" is definitely the best way to put it. 6 episodes ranging from 4-6 minutes basically equating to the span of one regular episode of a superhero animated series.

Really hope they go up to 22 minute episodes, even if it has the same episode count. Also, let's get a blu-ray release for the series, the CW Seed site sucks ass.

I gave up on it. It was hard to get excited over a few minutes of programming. Why not just air it all at once?
