More Concept Art from the Green Lantern Movie

Some of my concept artist friends sent me some stuff from Green Lantern. Check out the early costume designs for Hal Jordan, Tomar-Re, and Parallax. Too bad they didn't put Ryan Reynolds in a costume like this.

I've managed to acquire more Green Lantern Movie Concept Art from my friends who work in the industry. Check out these awesome works of art and lament over the fact that they ultimately went a different route for Hal's suit.

I would have gone for the second GL pic, but made the gloves black with green bracers and overall less green and more black with the mask black too.

The first costume looks stupid, it makes him look fat, and the second one looks too much like a military outfit. I prefer the costume design from the movie. But, they should've kept the mask from the 1st one, it looks cool.

They should've went with these designs of Parallax though, he looks more creepy and bug-like as he did in the comics.

@Godzillafart Thor solid I don't think so:

Loki freezes Heimdall but does not kill him. Afterwards, Loki tries to kill Thor but does not freeze him. An interesting fact to know is that if Loki killed Heimdall or froze Thor, he would have won.

Odin protects the Frost Giants' casket by puting it on display in a treasure room with the Destroyer hiding behind a wall instead of being in front of it. Even better yet, why not put the casket inside the Destroyer ?

1000 years ago, the Gods of Asgard fought against the Frost giants of Jotunheim and seized the source of their power, the Casket of Ancient Winters. In present time, the Frost Giants still look as menacing and strong as before even with the lack of access to their source of power for more than a milleninum. Why ?

Also this flash back it showed was 1000 years ago and sometime between then and now Thor and Loki are born yet in Norse mythology tales of Thor and Loki existed before then. WTF?

And another thing at least in GL they stated that the ring translates other languages in your head. But in Thor you mean to tell me on Asgard they speak modern English and even if they knew it in addition to their own language then should not Thor as soon as Jane Foster said her first word to him know that he was on Earth?

And also Odin is a real dick. Why would he adopt Loki and make him think he could be King when the whole time his intention was to only give it to Thor which it's only result could be Loki going crazy with jealousy?

Loki freezes Heimdall but does not kill him. Afterwards, Loki tries to kill Thor but does not freeze him. An interesting fact to know is that if Loki killed Heimdall or froze Thor, he would have won.

The reason Loki doesn't kill Heimdall could be any number of things. Heimdall is important to the safety of Asgard. And killing Heimdall wouldn't help him gain favor in his father's eyes.

As for Thor, maybe Loki didn't have the casket when he was fighting him? Loki froze Heimdall a good while before he fought with Thor. Loki didn't expect Thor to return to Asgard, so he was caught off-guard.

Odin protects the Frost Giants' casket by puting it on display in a treasure room with the Destroyer hiding behind a wall instead of being in front of it. Even better yet, why not put the casket inside the Destroyer ?

The fact that the Casket wasn't placed in a better location is irrelevant. Why does it matter if the casket is in front of the Destroyer or behind it? Either way, the intruders get [frick]ed by the Destroyer. An irrelevant gripe.

1000 years ago, the Gods of Asgard fought against the Frost giants of Jotunheim and seized the source of their power, the Casket of Ancient Winters. In present time, the Frost Giants still look as menacing and strong as before even with the lack of access to their source of power for more than a milleninum. Why?

Jotunheim looked like a wasteland in the present time. And the Frost Giants didn't look like they were doing too well either. What were you smoking in the theater?

Also this flash back it showed was 1000 years ago and sometime between then and now Thor and Loki are born yet in Norse mythology tales of Thor and Loki existed before then. WTF?

Odin says that after the battle with Laufey he went into the temple and found a small baby (Loki). If Loki was around then Thor had to have been born also. I'm no history expert, but the vikings were around for a long time. Long enough for them to come up with stories about Thor and Loki.

And another thing at least in GL they stated that the ring translates other languages in your head. But in Thor you mean to tell me on Asgard they speak modern English and even if they knew it in addition to their own language then should not Thor as soon as Jane Foster said her first word to him know that he was on Earth?

In the script, Darcy asks Volstagg "Why do you speak our language?" to which Volstagg replies "Silly girl! You speak our language!", implying that English was actually given to the mortals by the gods. But that is still a silly thing to gripe about. Some of the greatest sci-fi stories have this problem. That doesn't make them any less of a stoic tale.

And also Odin is a real dick. Why would he adopt Loki and make him think he could be King when the whole time his intention was to only give it to Thor which it's only result could be Loki going crazy with jealousy?

Odin was right. If Loki knew the real truth all along, the same results would have endured. You expect a child to grow up normally knowing that he's a monster who is only second in his father's eyes? Odin kept the truth from him to protect him, and never expected him to learn of his true ancestry. If your asking why Odin kidnapped Loki in the first place, he specifically stated that Loki was small for a giant's offspring and was abandoned. In the comics, it goes further into detail saying that Loki would have been killed by his fellow Jotuns.

Well I don't know about those suits either. The first one is ok, the second one makes him look like a Ninja Turtle lol. I just didn't like the sinewy rubbery look of the one in the movie.
Why can't they just keep it simple?

Something like this that looks like a suit:

As opposed to this that looks like he rolled around in green goo:

I like the suit from the movie best, it shows just how alien the alien police force is. Like it better than Captain America's baggy parachute suit but they say he's supposed to have a different outfit later so I will hold till then. And there should have been more training between Hal and Kilowog, he might as well had not been in the movie at all.

If they do a sequel they should just put makeup like Mystique and use lights for the emblem like Tron. Then they'll have more money for Oa etc
