[1]_Brad is teasing the Purple Man and Typhoid Mary, here. [Purple ManThe Purple Man’s body has been altered to produce chemical pheromones which, when inhaled or absorbed through the skin, allow Killgrave to control their actions by verbal suggestions. The effects only last as long as he is physically present and are somehow keyed to his personal voice and speech-pattern. When he departs, the level of chemicals is reduced within his victims at various rates (dependent upon their metabolisms), and then the victims regain full cognizance of self. Killgrave can influence hundreds of people at one time, and his victims can be controlled to perform actions against their will. He also seems to have some control over the release of his pheromones into the atmosphere, as he is able to walk hidden among crowds without influencing everybody. The Purple Man's body has also been mutated so that he is able to recover rapidly from trauma and to heal from severe injuries. In at least one instance, he entered a death-like state while his body healed itself. Not everyone is susceptible to his mind-control abilities. Doctor Doom has demonstrated that his supreme willpower can easily overcome the Purple Man's powers, while DareDevil is able to resist because being blind allows him to focus his concentration on resisting the Purple Man's verbal commands.[Typhoid Mary]Typhoid Mary (Mary Walker), also known as Typhoid, Walker, Bloody Mary and Mutant Zero, is a fictional character, a supervillain and enemy of Daredevil and Deadpool in the Marvel Comics Universe. She first appeared in Daredevil #254, and was created by Ann Nocenti and John Romita, Jr.. Her name comes from early 20th century Irish-American cook and typhoid fever carrier "Typhoid Mary" Mallon. Typhoid Mary is an enemy and former lover of Daredevil with low level psionic powers, including telekinesis. She has been a professional criminal employed by organized crime syndicates as an assassin in the past. She is also truly and gravely mentally ill. She has three separate personalities as a result of her mental illness. The timid, pacifist "Mary" personality has no psionic abilities. The "Typhoid" and "Bloody Mary" personalities have the full range of these psionic powers and they are strongest in "Bloody Mary". Her original "Mary Walker" personality is supposed to be a balanced amalgam of all of these, but is seldom dominant. Because of the different heart rates and voice patterns of her different personas, not to mention the different ways of dress, even Daredevil's super-senses were long unable to tell the different personas all belonged to the same woman, and Typhoid Mary took advantage of this situation to hide from Daredevil/Matt Murdock even within earshot. [2]_Sidney Lumet (June 25, 1924 – April 9, 2011) was an American director, producer and screenwriter with over 50 films to his name. He was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Director for 12 Angry Men (1957), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Serpico (1973), Network (1976) and The Verdict (1982). He did not win an individual Academy Award, although he did receive an Academy Honorary Award and 14 of his films were nominated for various Oscars, such as Network, which was nominated for 10, winning 4. Daredevil (Matthew Michael "Matt" Murdock) is a fictional character, a superhero in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with an unspecified amount of input from Jack Kirby and first appeared in Daredevil #1 (April 1964). Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. Yet while he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability. His father, a boxer named Jack Murdock, supports him as he grows up, though he is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight. After donning a yellow and black, and later a dark red, costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero Daredevil, fighting against his many enemies including Bullseye and the Kingpin. Daredevil's nickname is "the Man Without Fear".

I like the utalitarian extreme sports look of the concept. Doesnt need all the puches but defnitely like the padded, semi-armored look.

I'm one of those weird people who actually rather liked the Affleck and Garner Daredevil & Elektra. Except maybe that irritating kid in Elektra, they were pretty good movies.

It's not a Daredevil movie if i don't get to see him in his original yellow&red suit, change the yellow to gold or just have him wear it as a practice suit. And i would like to see him fight Stilt-Man as the villain, now that would be a "EPIC" fight.

It's unused concept art from the first movie.

And for anyone who still thinks Slade is a shit choice because he was involved with Twilight, look the guy up, he captures amazing visuals and can really create a dark creepy, atmosphere.

He did this "System of a Down" music vid which is great

His films "30 Days of Night" and "Hard Candy" are also great visually with amazing tension.
(Eespecially in Hard Candy, it's [frick]in' disturbing)

@ZeroEthic, Hard Candy is an awesome film, totally agree with what your saying.

Loving the concept art, although they could probably tone it down a bit. This is the CBM i am most anticipating, God i wish they would just give us some concrete news already.

Am I understanding correctly that the 'concept art' is for the first film, NOT this currently developing one? I certainly hope that the costume is better in this one. I hate the leather fetish thing they used in the previous film.

The Purple Man is an intriguing choice for a villain (the "Emperor Doom" graphic novel was an AWESOME story featuring him), as is Typhoid Mary.

CapFan79
CapFan79 - 7/19/2011, 8:28 AM
He should have a costume made of similar material as the X-Men First Class suits. Just a bit more form fitting. He shouldn't look like Spider-Man or a biker.

Maybe some practical pants like Captain America, just not baggy?
BillyBatson1000
BillyBatson1000 - 7/19/2011, 8:35 AM
Guys, reread your explanation, in context you write: Typhoid Mary is a fictional character. HELLO! Does that mean that The Purple Man is NOT a fictional character? That does not make sense. Other than that I'm jazzed for this. Typhoid Mary however is/was a clear RIP from DC's Poison Ivy and Two Face. Ann Nocenti is one of the great unsung heroes of Daredevil's mythos - often overshadowed by Frank Miller.

Concept art is pretty amazing, I liked 30 days of night and loved Hardy Candy, so hopefully its the Slade that directed those movie that turns up for Daredevil and not Twilight(although I've heard several people say his instalment was probably the best one, then again thats not much of a compliment.)

Does Marvel have the rights back?
MikeZ
MikeZ - 7/19/2011, 10:13 AM
Even if Marvel doesn't get the rights back somehow, at least make it so FOX can keep the rights, but the film can take place in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other than that, after directing Eclipse, David Slade will need to do more than just talk to impress us. He'll need to work his ass off to make us forget about his first Twilight experience.

Oh, and Paul Wesley for Daredevil, Angus McFayden for the Owl, and Lake Bell for Typhoid Mary.
megabatfan
megabatfan - 7/19/2011, 10:25 AM
I rather liked Dare Devil...No need to reboot, just continue with a great story. It can even be a loose sequel, not entirely bound by continuity. But a reboot is unnecessary IMO.
Elektra was plain CRAP & horibbly miscast!!!.
Jer3miah
Jer3miah - 7/19/2011, 11:06 AM
If these two lug nuts don't explain Matt's true origins involved with Stick and the Hand, I may just boycott this shit. Why do Hollywood jackasses always forget Daredevil is a trained ninja? Moreso than Elektra, its so damn retarded and annoying. I don't care about Purple FAIL and Mary. I want an origin true to the damn character. Stick trained Matt as a ninja. Simple as that. Ugh, most directors can't write an adaptation if their lives depended on it.

Im with jer3miah hope they make him a ninja, stick is awesome hope they dont leave him out.

That concept art does sick sort of like a modern day ninja too.
