OPINION POLL: The Hulk In The Avengers

Marvel Studios' The Avengers character posters have revealed how our heroes will look on the big screen come May 4th, 2012. The last to be shown was the Hulk which looks to be yet another redesign. Agree or Disagree?

Like all comic book characters, The Hulk has undergone a number of redesigns over the years. From his debut all the way back in 1962 and the original design by Jack Kirby, to the present day, where the majority of fans consider Dale Keow as the preeminent artist for Hulk; every comic book artist has attempted to leave their personal stamp on the visualization of the jade giant. Fun Fact: The Hulk was originally intended to be gray according to Stan Lee because he wanted a color that did not suggest any particular ethnic group. Colorist Stan Goldberg, however, had problems with the gray coloring, resulting in different shades of gray, and even sometimes green, in the debut issue. After seeing the first published issue, Lee ultimately chose to change the skin color to green. We've seen bearded Hulks, long-haired Hulks, blockish Hulks, brutish Hulks, crop top Hulks, World War Hulks, and nerdish Hulks to name but a few of the more conspicuous versions. In two Hulk movies, we've seen two different Hulks and it looks like we'll be seeing a third when The Avengers hits theaters in 2012. In light of this, I thought I would ask you guys, the true fans, which version of The Incredible Hulk do you wish you were seeing standing next to Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man?

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It was announced in April 2005 and is based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that crosses over several Marvel superhero films including Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans. The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012, in 3D.

The Avengers' version is alright, but the TIH one is by far the best IMO.

@kervberg True. I'm pleasantly surprised someone caught it. I could only find gray Kirby designs so I used that :)

i love the joss whedon design its a very old school look for the hulk.

once we actually see footage of the hulk in action all doubts will be gone.

I love TIH's Hulk. However, I find that The Avenger's Hulk shows more of a brute side to the character. It's much more true to the comics and it's the Hulk I remember growing up with. I still wouldn't mind seeing TIH's hulk though. ;)

that Joss Whedon's Avengers pic is the best representation of the character I have ever seen.. I am very exited for this.... I think he will be my favorite in the Avengers movie,.

I've seen better Hulk designs but I was never Cazy about TIH design. I don't like Hulkt to look like a Bodybuilder.

I liked the Incredible Hulk one the most I thought he looked fantastic in that movie. He looked angry and powerful. I like his design for the Avengers but I will still rather the Incredible Hulk design.

i loved ang lee's version but since that's history i love the new hulk for the avengers. personally it doesn't matter what we think cuz the studios already have their hulk so this is silly. all this will do is stir up the norton fans once again and they will cry and whine about how norton should be in the avengers. he's not so get over it. forgive me if i came off as rude.

i love dale keowns design , i think it should be a mix of the the avengers ,dales , and TIH texure on the body . i dont want to see a solid tone on hulk i want it just how TIH got it .


pale or light green with green viens popin out , thats the way to go !

True gotta give Sal Buscema props, he was also a regular on Cap in the 70s and in my mind is the silver age cap for me.
But I thought Herbe Trimp was the definite artist for the Hulk?

Hulk was a good one-shot. I have to say though that Hulk illustration with Banner's face in the background is way too epic. I'm sorry sir, i'm gonna have to write you a ticket: So epic it's a crime.

The new Avengers version is perfect!!! Couldn't ask for better! Totally love it, especially the eyebrows. I don't understand why people have any complaints?

Still, not too keen on Ruffalo.

Yea, your pics come out all deformed when im on my phone. The twitter logo is all stretched out and sometimes your pics come out like that.
