While on a press tour to promote
Cowboys & Aliens [click
here to listen to my review of that movie], Harrison Ford had the following to say about the reported prequel to
Blade Runner in development at Alcorn Entertainment.
If they go into it with the ambition and some very good idea of how to bring something new to it, maybe it’ll be successful.....The ambition every time that I’ve been involved in a sequel of a film or a movie that had a number of iterations, I always felt that we were responsible for bringing something new to the characters and to the experience of the audience. If they go into it with the ambition and some very good idea of how to bring something new to it, maybe it’ll be successful.
Surprisingly, it seems that Ford is not totally against this idea. Do you think a prequel to
Blade Runner could work?
Blade Runner is a 1982 American science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, and Sean Young. The screenplay, written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples, is loosely based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.
