Okay gang, salt at the ready. The latest rumor going around the internet is that the katana-wielding badass Michonne will make a dramatic appearance in the 13th and final episode of season two, which returns in February. Not too far back, an extra wrote a since-deleted post on his Tumblr account which stated that he would be playing one of Michonne's two pet zombies in the finale. However, the actor did not say who would be playing Michonne herself. Now another rumor has come flying in, from the ever elusive, "inside source" which reportedly confirms Michonne's appearance, and went a step further by revealing the fan favorite character will be played by Rutina Wesley, who many fans know from her portrayal of Tara on the hit HBO drama, True Blood.

Wesley is also in the upcoming film, Prometheus so I'm not sure if she would've had the time to film on The Walking Dead but if her character does indeed simply show up in the finale, then it's plausible she would've had time in her schedule to film a scene in order to set-up the character for a bigger role in season 3. So are you hoping that this is one rumor that turns out to be true or do you wish someone else would play Michonne? Sound off in the usual spot with your comments and theories. Again, until we hear more news from more official channels, take this as a rumor with sea-salt sized pinches of salt at the ready.

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series developed for television by Frank Darabont and based on the ongoing comic book series, The Walking Dead, by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. **SPOILERISH**
I love the show and wondered if/when Michonne would be showing up... I know she doesnt really show up in the in the GN until the prison but the way they are stretching out the story I figuired it wouldnt be until next season...
In fact I was just talking to my wife about Michonne last weekend... about how she travels with her two zombies to ward off others... if im correct was it her boyfriend and her father? Or brother? I know one of them was her boyfriend.

I REALLY hope this is not true, that chick annoys the heel out of me...or at least her character in True Blood does. She is a decent actress in fairness, but still, NO!

I like Rutina but Im sure there's more than one strong black female actress out there who wants to work in genre.

I don't like her in True Blood, and would hate to see her in TWD. I didn't know that she was in Prometheus...

And I'm beaten up once more, lol. as for the character, I didn't read much of The Walking Dead, so I don't know much either about her...but sounds sweet. I think I'd like to see her.

I'm down with that! Good choice... she's got that mean michonne streak that we see early on, and i'm sure she'd do a great job of evolving the character. She kind of lost her way in True Blood, as she just seemed to be a vehicle for punishment that allowed other characters to step into the limelight through her story arc's. Bit of a waste in TB, lets hope she really lives it up with those swords in TWD!

She was the only character on True Blood that I rooted for to be killed off in every episode. Her first season as Tara was "okay" but after that I got sick and tired of her always whining and being a victim.

GLprime2814 - 12/12/2011, 8:39 AM
Yo she played a bad ass in true blood doing cage fighting, just mess up her hair give her a bandana katana and 2 pet walkers on a leash and she is michonne.
Plus she's got the brooding thing down.

Ugh... just... ugh...

Tara is the second most annoying character in a show for me -- right after that black slayer in the final season of Buffy (no, not Kendra -- Kendra was awesome). I don't know how to feel about this. Rutina's frikkin' hot, but goddamn Tara is annoying.

I can't even comment on Rutina as an actress, I just know the character she plays is annoying as all Hell -- how much of that is Rutina and how much of that is Tara? I swear to God if they ruin Michonne like they've ruined Andrea... there's no hope for this show but to (oh, spoilers here btw) not kill off Lori and instead turn her into Sarah Connor.

@ROR

C'mon bro, she's perfect for the role!!! Granted ten years ago i would have said ANGELA BASSET ;) I think her character was supposed to be annoying in TRUE BLOOD, so she did a great job, lol. Seriously tho, she's in PROMETHEUS, so let's hope she's got some range, but i would love that casting if true...

You guys do know that was a CHARACTER, and she IS an ACTRESS right? Lol

Even though she did become annoying on True Blood, I think she is the perfect choice for Michonne.

What Talonted said. You guys act like she'll be playing Tara on The Walking Dead. No, she'll be playing Michonne and she has the acting range to make those characters totally different. If this proves true...

Alright, first True Blood [frick]in blows. So I qouldn't gauge any performance based off that load of horse shit. 2nd, if your going to let this dictate whether or not you will watch season 3, without even seeing her in the role... good [frick]ing riddance, you won't be missed. Just because she acted 1 way in 1 tv series doesn't condemn her forever, especially since said series is shit anyway.
