Speaking to InStyle Magazine, the current "it" Hollywood star fields questions about his rumored interest in James Bond and his work on Prometheus.

QUESTION: After Inglourious Basterds and X-Men: First Class, this is the third time you’ve played a special agent of sorts. Is Haywire really another covert audition for Bond?

FASSBENDER: "We’re sort of talked about it before, funnily enough, both in X-Men and Haywire. Both Matthew and Steven made references to James Bond. It was the look they were looking for: spies, espionage, this sort of thing. And I do think with Haywire, especially the scenes I’m in, there is something of an old-school 60s or 70s espionage film. I always felt that when we were doing it. But it certainly wasn’t something that I was seeking out. It just happened to be, that was the material and that was the job."

QUESTION: What can you tell us about your newest movie Prometheus?

FASSBENDER: "It’s the must-see film of 2012! I play the humanoid android. The first thing that struck me was a good script. Really intelligent script. A real thriller. Real anticipation. The first alien had that. The atmosphere was thick. You knew that something was going to happen. Which is very rare that you can read that in a script. And also, Ridley Scott is the master. He’s amazing. Really something else to watch him work. His attention to detail. And also his mischievousness, his playfulness. And again, no idea is stupid for him. He’ll let you bring it to the floor and have a go at it. I really, really enjoyed working with him. And of course the cast."

Also, here's a brutal fight scene between Fassbender and Gina Carano in the upcoming film, HAYWIRE.

Running Time: 93 minn

MPAA Rating: R for violence
Starring: Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Micahel Douglas, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton and Michael Fassbender

Only bad excuse I can say of haywire right now is that Channing Tatum is in it. That right there can bring any movie down

Could be an interesting next Bond, though I'd still prefer Henry Cavill. And good to hear about Prometheus from him, his character certainly looks very interesting as well.

Pour Gina, first she's sucker punched by Tatum in the diner, now by Fassbender too! What is it with these guys in that movie?

Fassbender could make a great Bond but after watching Zen with Rufus Sewell, I think Sewell could also potentially suit the role of Bond. And I am aware that Sewell is often used as the villain in some of the fan castings, but honestly, I think he would be a fantastic Bond.

The Saint would be sweet. Just hope they let him ride a Volvo P1800 again. It's such a nice looking car. (before the time when Volvo starded using Ikea shipping boxes as an inspiration)

FIRST CLASS TOOK ALOT OF DESIGN INSPIRATIONS FROM THE BOND FILMS. BY DOING SO YOU GAVE FASSBENDER THAT PLATFORM .......AND IT WORKS.

@Nomis - You hit it dead on, he'd be perfect for the saint, he's not physical enough for bond and he's got that 8-ball head like Roger Moore who also was not suited for Bond but was excellent as the Saint!

Christian Bale for Bond!

He'd be a pretty great Bond.

@Ceejay, While I love everything Bale does (he's my favorite actor)... I'm not quite sure if he has the Bond look. Although it'd be awesome to see him as the suave secret agent.

@SanderMan yeah but Channing Tatum gets his ass handed to him by Gina Carano. A hot chick beating three shades of shit out of that annoying [frick]er Tatum? Perfect movie idea.

@ironman53 Hmm... Fassbender... Nolan... Bond... sounds like a winner to me!
Well, almost. I think we can all agree Nolan's handling of action scenes isn't the best, he'd certainly need to crank up the action for a Bond film.

I think he would make a great James Bond. After many more years of Daniel Craig as Bond, of course.

@teabag Wow, that's good to hear Haywire has been getting such good reviews. I was expecting it to be average at best, so I'm glad I'm wrong. :)

@grey, he gets them caught in the bar/cantina thing by using the wrong fingers to order shot glasses and the german officer catches it, and he says a few bad ass lines before he dies (Fassbender that is).

No for Bond ..give him the Saint or something :)

That IS a better Idea. Though he sure did an equal or better job of get his ass kicked compared to Craig.
Or maybe he'll do the Bourne Indemnity after they go looking for a new guy once Renner sees no where to go with the character.
