TV Addict is reporting that more Smallville characters will be turning up in Arrow, this time it's Daily Planet gossip columnist Cat Grant. Known in the comics for trying to steal Clark Kent from Lois Lane, TV Addict reports that this version will be 're-imagined as a sexy TMZ-style reporter who appears in the ARROW pilot to cover the unexpected reappearance of Oliver Queen'.

They also go on to report that Smallville alum Keri Lynn Pratt is up to reprise the role further blurring the lines of whether Arrow has a connection to Smallville. Some fans have speculated that the show will be a prequel to Smallville, in the sense that it follows Oliver before he arrives in Metropolis.

Green Arrow pilot

On 18 January, 2012, The CW greenlit the pilot for a proposed Green Arrow series with Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg producing. The series, Arrow, will offer a fresh take on the character. Smallville's Justin Hartley will not be involved in the new project. Actor Stephen Amell will portray Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the pilot.

In Arrow, Oliver Queen will be in his late twenties. Dinah Laurel Lance will also be a featured character, though not as the Black Canary and using her middle name "Laurel." Oliver Queen's mother Moira is still alive in the present day, with Oliver Queen returning to "Starling City" after people believed he was dead for five years. It has been recently reported that actress Katie Cassidy will portray Dinah Laurel Lance in the pilot episode. Colin Donnell is cast as Merlyn.

No, keep this as far away from Smallville as possible.

The chick from Smallville annoyed the hell out of me. Make her more slutty which they kind of did near the end of Smallville but amp it up.

If this series includes and adapts things from Diggle's Year One, it should be pretty good. At least the first season... or few episodes...

-shrug-

Only going to watch it because it's comic-related.

I think Keri Lynn Pratt has posed nude before. Why are they using her again?

If Cat Grant is to be in this series, then she had better live up to her incredibly hot buxom nature and be at least a little slutty because that is the character.

@GraphicCitym, I guess the TV Addict article says that Keri Lynn Pratt has to re-audition for the role (see Any Arrow Intel -- Mikey http://www.thetvaddict.com/2012/02/23/ask-the-addict-spoilers-for-glee-how-i-met-your-mother-hart-of-dixie-once-upon-a-time-arrow-more/). That means that she is not a shoe in.

@dnno1 i said up to reprise her role, meaning she isn't a shoe-in but could possibly do so.

I wish they'd bring back Speedy (Elise Gatien) more than Cat :/
and besides, I liked Emilie Ullerup as Cat Grant more than Keri Lynn Pratt.

@GraphicCity, when you use the word reprise, it means that you have renewed (in this case) or your are going to repeat in that role.

@Gusto, just Google Keri Lynn Pratt (with save search turned off) and you will see what I mean.

Huh, it does seems like they are trying to connect this to Smallville.

If the CW is okaying this as like a thank you to Smallville fans, that's cool.

I hope the show turns out good.
