The March issue of GQ Magazine profiles Liam Hemsworth, younger brother of Thor titular actor Chris Hemsworth, a role that the brothers were both up for. Here's what Liam has to say about losing out to big brother:
On Chris landing the role of Thor:
HEMSWORTH: “Look, Chris is six-and-a-half years older than me so there’s this thing where if I’d got Thor, that would have been weird. The way I look at this is, better Chris than someone else. Believe me, Chris and I spent most of our lives beating each other up. At this point, we’re just happy not to be fist-fighting over who gets to sit in the front seat.”
Must have been interesting, to say the least, to be competing against your own brother for the lead role in a major motion picture. I believe Liam is stating that with Chris being so much older, he's used to losing when they compete so he didn't really get wrapped up in the loss. Also, that if he was going to lose out on the role, at least it was to his big brother. Still, things worked out in the end for Liam, he's starring in the Hunger Games, a film that will likely gross similar numbers to Twilight, which would be a lot more than Thor.
