Hey U Guys! were on the red carpet for the Jameson Empire Awards and scored a number of interviews including one with the flamboyantly vivacious Jane Goldman who confirmed that[@ the 1:32 mark]she and director Matthew Vaughn are developing the X-Men:First Class sequel "among other things." It was previously reported that Simon Kinberg would be writing the sequel so this development means that he's either working with Vaughn and Goldman or he's out.

X-Men: First Class is a 2011 American superhero film directed by Matthew Vaughn and produced by Bryan Singer, based on the X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. The fifth installment in the X-Men series, the film acts as a prequel for the X-Men trilogy, being set primarily in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It focuses on the relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr (Magneto), and the origin of their groups—the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants, respectively. The film stars James McAvoy as Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Lensherr. Other cast members include Kevin Bacon, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Zoë Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult and Lucas Till.

Announced in 2006, First Class entered production in August 2010 and finished in December, with additional photography taking up up to three weeks before the film's premiere in June 2011. Locations included Oxford, the Mojave desert and Georgia, with soundstage work in both Pinewood Studios and the 20th Century Fox stages in Los Angeles. The film received positive reviews and was a box-office success with earnings of $353 million worldwide.

Omg! Am I first? Weird...

Anyhoo, she is pretty smokin hot and is downright desireable as a nerd queen! All hail Goldman! Good news!

I feel like FC was everything the first x-men should've been. And if they had done the 60's storyline and bright costumes first, we probably would have had a REAL Wolverine (with yellow costume and mask!)

Fingers crossed that 'The Wolverine' finally delivers, if not, perhaps a reboot of the character in further x-men films..

Delighted to see her on board for the next First Class film, without doubt one of the best comic book movies ever.

Am I the only one that thinks this movie is overrated. Dont get me wrong I enjoyed the shit out if it. But it was very inaccurate and somewhat campy. Acting was mint though. I would not call it one of the best Cbm's ever. IMO

3 big differences between Goldman and Cody.

Goldman's massively sweet breasts (1 and 2) and she's super talented (3).

Cody's writing is uninspired and she's frick ugly.

Well as we've now established, Ms. Jane Goldman is 'old'. And 'trashy'...

My kinda lady lol.

@ironAngel. You are a complete and utter idiot to be talking so superficially about a woman. To be so arrogant that you would try to blab your opinion on how people should look and dress. I don't know how old you are but its pretty obvious that with the pompous attitude you have towards women, your parents or guardians have utterly failed you.

A woman is not a comic book or movie you retard. You can't give you're opinion on how she can improve herself. Or at least you shouldn't.

@IronAngel I think Jane is beautiful. She has giant boobs, why should she hide them? If I had those boobs I'd have them out on show all the time like Sofia Vergara or Christina Hendricks.

Just because she's 41 doesn't mean she should stop being sexy. :/ Infact, she puts a lot of the younger Hollywood starlets to shame.

I want Scott Summers and Jean introduced in First Class 2. It's a must. Get rid of Alex/Havoc, who never should have been in the film in the first place, and give me Scott, the confident Scott Summers I remember from the classic 90's Tv show
