Talking to clevverTv.com about his upcoming episode of Glee, actor Dylan Sprayberry also dished out a few intriguing tidbits about Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.

Question:Can you tell us a little about Man of Steel and your upcoming projects?

Sprayberry: I just finished shooting Man of Steel. That was in Canada and Chicago. I filmed that all last year. After that I did “Common Law.” That’s going to be on USA coming up pretty soon. I played the son of Sonya Walger. That was really cool.

Question: What will people really love about Man of Steel?

Sprayberry: When Zack [Snyder] and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like The Dark Knight but also make it more realistic and emotional so it’s not just the all-american superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he’s a kid.

Dylan Sprayberry will portray young Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot.

Man of Steel is an upcoming superhero film under the development of Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Superman, the film will be a reboot of the Superman film series. Using Chicago and Vancouver as a backdrop, with production to be based in west suburban Plano, Illinois, the film entered principal photography in August 2011, for a planned theatrical release on June 14, 2013 by Warner Bros., which also includes IMAX venues.

Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent when he was transported to Earth from the dying alien planet Krypton. Kent, raised with the values of his adoptive parents, feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero, Superman, to protect its people.

Well as much as I love the classic Superman he has needed updating to suite the modern world. Yes he can still inspire hope, but needs to have more relatable problems and issues. Not teenage angst, but suffer from what common people do. Overall if this is true like the sound of it, edgy also doesn't mean dark for those who might jump on that.

Please, if there is a God, let this kid be wrong. Edgy? Realistic? CRAP! On top of the EXTREMELY godawful costume, the abysmal logo redesign, and Nolan's involvement? This thing is shaping up to be worse than "The Quest for Peace."

Tackleberry was the shit!

"more realistic and emotional so it’s not just the all-american superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie"

Good, finally a realistic take on a alien that flies, can lift busses, and is bulletproof...fighting other aliens like Zod...wait...what?

Most Superman movies and TV shows shined bright spotlights on his dilemmas, love, and struggles outside the Super suit due to budget restraints. I want a Superman movie which lets go of that BS and has some knock-down, drag-out, super fights, something we have yet to see in live action. We have seen everything else, make a Superman movie where he throws punches!

luckily, these are quotes from some child actor, and Zack has shown he has a firm grasp on action. So I am hoping what I know of Snyder outweighs the quotes from this kid.

A Superman movie doesn't have to be edgy in order for it to be good. That's a [frick]ing crutch due to an inability to make a good and relevant superman movie. If Captain America's bland ass could have a good movie that kept his character in tact, Superman shouldn't have a problem.

Now we have this mentality of taking The Dark Knight approach with Superhero movies. Don't get me wrong, I love TDK. It's one of my favorite movies. But the fact that Hollywood is trying to take that approach with characters like Spiderman and Superman is annoying.

This could go well, or it could be a pile of shit. I want Superman to be the ultimate hero, the one I would like to be real the most, not just because of his powers but because of his integrity and his character. If they make him "dark" just like Batman then it's BS.
I mean, look what they are doing to Spider-Man.
