THOR 2 Update From Chris Hemsworth

Actor Chris Hemsworth says Thor 2 will be less green screen and more tangible, the lore and realism of director Alan Taylor's Game of Thrones series is a welcome addition to the sequel.

Thor 2

Talking to The York Press about Thor 2 and becoming a parent along with his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth shared the following---

"I'm incredibly excited about fatherhood. I am excited about Thor 2 too, but I think the biggest challenge will be fatherhood," he said.

The Avengers may have been steered by Joss Whedon and Robert Downey Jr. but for the sequel to Thor, Hemsworth has a little more say.

Said Hemsworth, ""I haven't got a script yet for Thor 2. I do get input into the script to a degree."

In regards to Marvel finally settling on Alan Taylor as director for the Thor sequel, apparently the mythical aspect and realism of Game of Thrones sealed the deal for Taylor.

"Alan Taylor, one of the directors and creators of Game Of Thrones, is directing it. What I love about that series is the mythical element to it, but that world that they lived in was entirely tangible and organic. It was all real locations, not green screen. I think Thor and Asgard could use that. That would be a huge plus, to not have worlds that are too clinical and ethereal, and have places that look like they have existed for thousands of years. I think this would be more locations and less green screen."

In his praise of Game of Thrones and Alan Taylor, Hemsworth has perhaps given us a hint as to what we can expect in the Thor sequel?

You can next see Hemswort as Thor Odinson in Marvel's The Avengers, debuting in US theaters May 4th.

The Avengers

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

Real locations are okay...so long as they're not supposed to be on earth. Pick real back locations...then fill them with trolls or fire demons or something.

This is exactly what Thor 2 needs.. I hope that Alan Taylor takes some of their adventures away from the grandeur of Asgard and into the realms that can show more like what we are seeing in Game of Thrones...

A long as they don't combine villains like they did with Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash in Iron Man 2.

That's cool that he gets input in the script to a degree. Chris Hemsworth is pretty awesome. He makes, pretty much, an ideal Thor. Not to mention I have a man crush on the dude. I would probably go gay for him. Just playing. For the last time, I love the p u s s y! :P

please please do more real world / set building....I like "Thor" but don't love it and I think that is a key reason why.

sweet lord, I hope it happens. they need to steal from LOTR's playbook for doing a better job making these places seem more tangible.

Love the fact that he's growing out his hair. Less green screen and wigs lol. Hoping for a clean-shaven Thor. The scruffy look is getting old.

And also Thor was amazing Branagh did an exceptional job and the look of asgard was brilliant. That said a little "zooming in" on the landscape of asgard would well recieved

Perfect!

Thor 2 needs to tone down the sci-fi and up the fantasy. Less tech more mysticism.
