Batman: Arkham City is a 2011 action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady Studios. It is the sequel to the 2009 award winning video game Batman: Arkham Asylum, based on the DC Comics superhero Batman. The game was released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game was officially announced during the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards and was released worldwide for consoles, beginning in North America on October 18, 2011, with the Microsoft Windows version following on November 22, 2011. A Wii U version is set to be released in 2012. A spin-off iOS game, Batman: Arkham City Lockdown, was developed by NetherRealm Studios and released on December 7, 2011.

Arkham City was scripted by veteran comic book author Paul Dini, who also scripted Arkham Asylum. It features a main plot and side-missions that develop their own sub-plots. The main storyline revolves around Batman's imprisonment in Arkham City, a sprawling new super-prison five times bigger than the original asylum and enclosing a wide variety of industrial districts, iconic locations and Gotham City landmarks. He must now stop mishaps occurring around this chaotic enclosure caused by Gotham's most notorious super criminals. The game has received universal critical acclaim and is one of the highest-rated video games of 2011 according to review aggregator Metacritic.

I'm buying the Game of The Year Edition. I sold my first copy because my saves kept getting deleted for some unknown reason, it was at the point I had to beat the game three times and still a day later gone. People say because of the dlc, so Im just going to buy the game of the year edition so I don't have to worry about it. Cant wait to play as Robin in Arkham City!

Dude they delayed PC twice just to give us crappy DX11 issues. And they don't really market towards the PC players except through NVidia. We are very low on their priority list.

Everyone should boycot this bullshit and give Rocksteady a big united mid finger for withholding game content only to sell it to the player later at an added cost, but thats never going to happen! What will happen is every other company is going to jump on to this idea so get ready to be nickel and dimed for every halfassed game you buy!

13echo, ummm, where have you been? They been doing this since this generation of consoles dropped.

sbdc1939, you can't do it on Xbox either.

AraxisHT, it's completely acceptable since the market for games like this on consoles far exceed that of the PC versions. Anytime a Console game comes out with a PC version, the console versions outsell the PC version more than 10 times over. And understandably so since it would take a $1500+ gaming PC to run games like this.
