I was a little underwhelmed by the domestic and international trailers released for Man of Steel but I managed to snag a look at the SDCC extended trailer before Warner Bros. took them off Youtube and I must say that version is much more awe-inspiring. Now, to no one's surprise, the first teaser trailer has been recut with John Williams original score and Marlon Brando providing the voice over in lieu of Russell Crowe. If you're looking for an example of epic, this is it folks.

You can see the domestic trailer below which has filler music from The Lord of the Rings and Kevin Costner providing the voice over.

Man of Steel is an upcoming American superhero film under the development of Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Superman, the film will be a reboot of the Superman film series. Using Chicago and Vancouver as a backdrop, with production to be based in west suburban Plano, Illinois, the film entered principal photography in August 2011, for a planned theatrical release on June 14, 2013 by Warner Bros., which also includes IMAX venues.

Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero Superman to protect its people.

the domestic trailer doesnt have a hans zimmer score...hes scoring it currently, so they used filler music for the teaser and its from the lord of the rings soundtrack...

i confirm Grayson7954's comment. it's from the scene after Gandalf dies.

not really impressed by the domestic "trailer." i wanted something BIG, not something arthouse.

hopefully the full trailer will knock my socks off. still keeping my fingers crossed...

Man I'm starting to hate re-intros to character beginnings how much do we already know them by heart can't they just jump to the meat and potatoes and [frick]ing skip the salad.

pretty darn good, but its a shame the superman theme kicks in when the camera is zoomed in on the butterfly. lol

Now that gave me chills! See what happens when you use one of the most recognizable and best themes ever (that you own the rights to BTW WB). Instead of the Lord of the Rings music made to emote sadness at the falling of Gandalf. Probably not.........

I showed my wife the trailer and all she said was "Why did they use the music from after Gandolf dies?" I just stared at her is awe and said, "After watching this, that is all you have to say?" She said "Yeah." and walked off. I liked the trailer because for me, it made me more interested, and got my mind working. Although, when you see Cavill trying to hitch a ride, it made me think of Superman 2 when goes back to get his powers.

I'm glad that they haven't gone with the original Williams score for this one. As someone who literally grew up on the Donner Superman films, the original music doesn't allow me to move on. But this was really good. Wow. Great cut.

now thats a teaser advert and oddly creepy to hear marlon brando and the john williams theme to the new footage.

Guys, the "domestic" trailer is a TEASER trailer. The teaser from Superman: The Movie only showed actors names and then the \S/ on the screen, do we actually got more in this one than anything we got in the first Superman movie's teaser.

I for one, am glad they are rebooting everything ab this, even the music. On the other hand, THAT WAS [frick]ING AWESOME!

Here's hoping 20 years down the road, these movies can be as iconic as the Donner films were

I don't see why people don't like the teaser trailer? It's a teaser trailer they're suppose to tease us, the Genreal audience probably had no idea we were getting a superman reboot so I thin it'ls good that they only showed a few things to lets them know we were getting a reboot. The trailer at comic con will be the real trailer, and that's sure to rile up the Genreal audience and audiences alike.

This just makes my previous case as to why the john williams tunes or a remix of it needs to be used!!!

Now THAT'S the way to do it! I can't bring myself to accept that John Williams' perfect score will not be in this movie. It was one of my favourite parts of (the not perfect, but not at all bad) Superman Returns.

That was alright, pretty cool until that part when young clark puts his hands on his hips. It was too cheesy.
The John Williams theme was and always will be brilliant, but it's about time we let it go.

I love the John Williams score but in all honesty it belongs with the Donner films. MoS is a reboot and I am tired of hearing the use of the Willians score used un conjunction with this movie.

I partly agree with Superguy, no more Donner verse or anything associated with it. Please!

Personally, I like the teaser trailers and I liked the SDCC footage even more. I found the teasers to be quite touching.

I'm sorry, but that was GENIUS! SO much better than the actual trailer. It gets the point across and it actually makes you excited for the movie. If I were them, I'd have used that even though they're going to use Zimmer's score.
