GAME OF THRONES: Mance Rayder Cast

One more king joins the fray in Season 3 of HBO's Game of Thrones. Actor Ciarán Hinds will be portraying the King Beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder.

Veteran actor Ciarán Hinds (John Carter, Ghost Rider:SOV, Munich, There Will Be Blood) has signed on to play Mance Rayder in Season 3 of HBO's Game of Thrones.

The character was teased in Season 2, a former Night's Watchman, he now leads the Wildings on a deadly march to overtake the Seven Kingdoms or maybe it's to flee from something... Regardless, he'll definitely have a lasting impact on Kit Harrington's Jon Snow.

Season 3 of Game of Thrones kicksoff March 31, 2013.

mixed feelings... not how i pictured him at all.. but on the other hand he is a good actor.. we'll see

Cirian Hinds can act.

But I always saw Rayder as far more rugged and energetic a character.

If that is him, than not only did you get a much better picture but he looks to fit into this medieval world of Game of Thrones. Someone please just FREEZE me til Late March 2013. I cannot wait to see this next season, it or the one after will be the best so far.

Ciaran was great in Munich, that's mostly what I remember him from whenever i see him in movies now, but Yes he was a fantastic Julius Cesar, Great move, also the characters in the show have had there ages ramped up a bit so the complaining about he's to old is pretty irrelevant, if the writers keep doing what there doing and let Hinds get into this role he as well as the story will floruish and come together pretty smoothly.... i hope lol.

I just saw him in Political Animals. He's about 50lbs heavier than he is in those photos. Hopefully he can drop the weight before shooting.

Man, someone beat the snot outta him when he was younger, look at that nose! Lol.

I pictured MANCE differently, but this show is SO GOOD, I won't complain one bit. Every decision they made (other than the sanitizing of ARYA's character, IMO), has been the right one....and I've read every book twice!!

A great actor no doubt, but like many others I pictured Mance quite a bit younger.
