The CW's Arrow looks to delve deeper into comic book lore in the third ep of the season as we get an introduction of DC Comics marksman/assassin Deadshot.

Episode 1×03 “Lone Gunmen”---Oliver (Stephen Amell) is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn’t appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter (Colin Salmon) is one of the bidders. Realizing he can’t protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver. Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg.

oooooh, a whole hundred yards away. wow. i've shot target rifle at 1200 yards before, and hit the bloody thing. Deadshot? Deadshit more like.

I still don't really like the actor... doesn't seem like he fits the part. Eyepiece could be a little smaller.

Still like the show so far and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

@Froggy- I couldn't disagree with you more on that. His Arkham City look is waaaaay better and more true to the comics.

@Froggy- AT LEAST he had a cowl. And his Akrham City version still retained a variation of his iconic colors.

This version got nothing right, not even his eyepiece.

His Arkham City version was a solid reimagining of him in the real world while STILL retaining some of his comicbook elements.

This version in Arrow just seems way far off the mark but that's ok, i'm still excited

He wears the bright red and gold uniform because Lawton is suicidal. He paints himself up to be a target, inviting others to take their shots at him. That being said, I don't miss a big red and silver costume, but no mask? We don't need to see everyone's face. A faceless villain can also be cool. EX. The Fett.

@Froggy- I still prefer Arkham City's version. But hey we all have our own opinions :)

Think people, why would ANYONE in the real world dress like that?

It's nice to see Deadshot getting attention. Since the '80's I've always thought he was a simple.., yes, but effective & cool villain. It was great seeing him in Gotham Knight. Hopefully they do him justice on the show, but this version's eyepiece does seem a tad awkward. Can't argue with the show's design for Slade though, that mask looks great! Would be cool to someday see the true Deadshot on screen: a mashup of his solo series from 5 or 6 years ago and the classic red & silver design.

I like the Arrow version, fits with the whole 'function over form' theme the show has better. The comics one looks cooler, but would be a nightmare to do live action on a CW budget. Arkham City's one just kind of mangles the two styles together. And the Smallville one... @JonathaNisMagnuM, thanks. Almost managed to forget about that

Forgot about Suicide Squad. Initially picked those issues up where available as a kid solely for him.

@The SoulEater
Umm..comic books are not the "real world" & if you want to create a show based on comics go all out & stay faithful or just DO NOT MAKE THE SHOW AT ALL!

Screw the "reality" crap..The Avengers proved outlandish costumes can be cool if designed & filmed right.
Making everything "dark & gritty" is just because they lack the vision & skill to execute the way a character should look,if we enjoy it on the page we can enjoy it on the screen too.

im sick of people complaining about this show so its not the comic costume who says it wont evolve into that anything is possible at the moment its been three episodes no one has any concrete idea on where the creaters actually want to go with this yet

but as for the powers thing i think they should really have big players like supes and wonder woman with powers people like black canary could just use teck or something maybe some sort of supersonic device
