BOND Producer Says There Is Strong Interest In Christohper Nolan

Yesterday brought news that James Bond producers have met with Idris Elba about the titular role, and today we have news that Christopher Nolan is definitely on their radar to direct a future installment of Bond.

We've heard before that Christopher Nolan was interested in directing a James Bond film at some point in his career and it turns out that Bond is just as interested in Christopher Nolan. And if Skyfall director Sam Mendes was indeed influenced by Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight then it makes since for producers to look at the inspiring auteur if they're pleased with Skyfall's finished product. The film's assoicate-producer Gregg Wilson, son of long-time Bond producer Michael G. Wilson, has gone on record stating that "Christopher Nolan would be a 'dream' choice for a future Bond director. We would of course be interested to have a discussion with him. We would like to do the same type of movie. It would be a dream to be with Nolan. But we always have an open mind when it comes to directors."

Just this past summer Nolan stated that he's very serious about the prospect of directing a James Bond film although the timing would have to be right. At the very least, I think there will definitely be a meeting between the two camps at some point in the future. Overall, it sounds like we could very well have an Elba/Nolan collaboration for a future Bond film?

Skyfall opens November 9th in the U.S.

Would be a great choice for directing Bond, especially if directing a Daniel Craig Bond.

Should be given a chance to do one at the very least to see how his take would go.

Haven't he done this before with The Bond Knight Rises? Oh wait...it was Batman in this? Really?

Capital NO! As Bluemex said, this dude sucks at action and most importantly editing! The three Craid Bond movies have raised the bar in action. He's just gonna lowe it! If there's a top choice for Bond directing, which would eventually happen, its Guy Ritchie! That brother knows how to make a movie!

Oh come on!! Daniel Craig is not even don yet and they are searching new Bond´s.

Nolan is good director so i wont judge yet. In the matter of fact Skyfall looks little bit like his film.
If he stays in the same style i could see it happen.

They're obviously talking to Elba about the villain role in the next movie, not the title role. He would be in his mid-to-late 40s by the time Craig was through.

When I saw Inception, I though a lot of the action and the settings resembled a Bond movie. I'm 110% down with Chris Nolan on a Bond film!

My question is this. Would Nolan do a movie he didn't write or have a hand in writing? Usually the Bond Producers have their own team of writers the work with. Or would Nolan insist on being in on the writing script?

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I heard or read somewhere where Nolan said he would only work on movies he has a hand in writing.

why is anyone even mentioning mention Elba? sure he would make an awesome Bond... but Craig is up for at least two more films. thats probably like 5 years.. let's see where things are then.. while were at it, a local high school junior is set to replace RDJ as Tony Stark in 10 years... sheesh...

NOLAN FOR BOND IS GOLD!!

plus i feel like if Elba does play bond then we'll get the whole Bourne Legacy thing with "there was never just one" and that will crap all over the whole series.

The main problem most Nolan haters seemed to have with his Batman films was the fact that they were too realistic to incorporate the more fantasy based elements. James Bond has pretty much no fantasy elements, and the current direction of the franchise since Daniel Craig became Bond, as well as the original Fleming novels, makes Nolan a brilliant choice for the next (or a future) Bond director. I mean, Inception had a bit of a Bond vibe, but obviously with far more sci-fi influence.

But yeah, I hope he doesn't go and fill out his film with his usual recycled cast. I'd be ok with one or two actors coming in for his Bond film - Tom Hardy and Michael Caine in supporting roles would be awesome - but I don't want to go watch a Bond film and think 'Inception Part Three' (The Dark Knight Rises being Part Two in terms of cast).

I'd like to see Nolan direct Daniel Craig as Bond. Perhaps have Michael Caine be a government official and in charge of Bond, and have Tom Hardy as the villain.

Or maybe bring in Idris Elba and Tom Hardy as fellow Double-0 agents - it'd be cool to see MI6 expanded a bit beyond Bond, M, Q, Moneypenny, etc. Maybe for the first time have a less solo Bond film, and have him in a situation where, for once, he's forced to work alongside other Double-0s in the field. And have Michael Caine play the villain. That'd be really interesting, I'm sure Caine could play a fantastic, and unique, Bond villain, and it'd be cool because he hasn't played a lot of well known villains.

@ tea

Yeah Michael Cain for Number 1. Q would be Morgan Freeman, JGL would play a heavy, and Tom Hardy would be Bond.

I would be VERY interested in watching a Nolan directed BOND movie, and the fact that Idris could be involved just makes things even better

Would love this. Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and Ken Watanabe are musts for Bond, the Bond girl and the villain.

And of course Michael Caine would be thrown in there somewhere.

Henry Cavill would make a great Bond...and I don't think it would matter if he also played Superman. Harrison Ford played Han Solo and Indiana Jones at the same time, Matt Damon played in the Bourne films and Ocean's 11-13 at the same time, and Ian McKellen played Gandalf and Magneto at the same time too.

They should look at who fits the part best, and I think Cavill would be the perfect Bond after Craig leaves. He'll also be around 35 if Craig does in fact leave the part in 6 years which would make Cavill the perfect age for the role too. Michael Fassbender would be 41 in 6 years, so he would be able to pull off 2 maybe 3 films before they have to recast again, Cavill would be the perfect choice for the next James Bond...

Bond is white...that's not racist. That's just how it is. Why not remake Roots with Jewish people or remake 'The Godfather' with Russians since they have a mafia too. Colorblind casting rarely works in one off performances of known plays...not established franchises that have been around for 50 years. Bond has a history and a background. Create your own character if you want a black spy, but don't ride the coat tails of Ian Fleming's success. He's Swiss/Scottish...not African, that's just how it is.
