I must admit, I'm a tad bit shocked at the results. Nolan has become a bit of a polarizing figure around here whether its Star Wars, James Bond or even Batman. Coming in second was Brad Bird followed by JJ Abrams and Peter Jackson. Sound off in the usual spot below and keep the debate going.

No, no and NO! The two best choices would be Guillermo del Toro or Rian Johnson. The rest are overly used. Someone new please and again, NO NOLAN!

Not exactly surprising results for a comic book movie website. I like Nolan a lot, but Star Wars should be fun. That's not really his strong suite.

@starscream9289 - when we talk del toro we're in for giant(mostly), scary monster shit. Star wars would become a horror flick with him

Ugh, hell no. Thankfully, I'm sure the people in power wouldn't consider him for something like Star Wars. He lacks the ability to keep fiction rooted in fiction, he's too concerned with reality and making "cool" films for film buffs. His Batman sucked.

seriously nolan, while i really enjoy the batman movies, who wants a realistic take on star wars, and i know this is just what people voted for, it's not really happening, but still, think before you vote next time, nolan wouldn't be right for star wars, the three best choices are brad bird, JJ abrams, and peter jackson

nolanites are the worse fans ever, they believe their leader must direct every film out there its sad to say the least.

it should go to someone like peter jackson, james cameron, rian johnson or guillermo del toro.

I think Nolan is a solid director, but this does not seem like something he would remotely want to do. This is pure fantasy realm, even Memento and Inception had a level of reality to them. Star Wars is pure sci-fi and I just do not see him wanting to do it. Then again, maybe he would be interested in stretching and testing his chops out.

Give the series to a fresh director with ideas and an understanding of the universe he is getting into. A fan, not a fanatic like the John Carter of Mars director was.

rockerdude22 - 11/4/2012, 5:32 PM
*facepalm* Listen, Nolan's an excellent director, but he's totally wrong for a movie like Star Wars! I'd say you give it to Brad Bird.

I seriously hope people don't start suggesting Nolan for every movie now.

Oh yeah, cause we all want to see a "grounded" and "realistic" Star Wars movie where the Jedis fight with baseball bats and assault rifles that quit being Jedis after 1 year.

You know, if I wasn't in college right now, I'd maybe try to get the gig! I'm an aspiring film-maker, and I would love to get involved with something like Star Wars!

He's a skilled director who knows what he's doing. STOP complaining!!
Are you guys so STUPID and RETARDED that you think he's going to start using real swords and shit?
THOR : THE DARK WORLD WILL BE GROUNDED AND BASED IN REALITY. Will THAT be UN-FANTASTICAL? NO!!!

He only did that for BATMAN because that's the type of character BATMAN is, you retards. Do you REALLY think he's going to change what the Jedi are and tone down the fantastical nature of that universe?

The stupidity of comic book fans is embarassing.
