Dane DeHaan apparently left Marc Webb's house disappointed because it seems Sony is looking for actors 'more athletic and good looking' for Harry Osborn; which is more in keeping with the James Franco version of Spider-Man and less so with contemporary comic book depictions of the supporting character.
Today, four new young actors tested for the role including Claflin, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth and Boyd Holbrook.
Claflin was previously seen in Snow White & The Huntsman and will be portraying Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Redmayne was previously seen in My Week with Marilyn and will portray Marius in the upcoming adaptation of Les Misérables. Booth was previously seen in LOL and will portray Shem in Darren Aronofsky's Noah. Holbrook was previously seen in the Hatfields & McCoys tv miniseries and has an unspecified role in Out of the Furnace.
Dane DeHaan, Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet were all up for the role initially.
