Manu Bennett Cast As Deathstroke On ARROW

A bit of inspired casting here. Fans familiar with Manu Bennett from Spartacus will be pleased to learn that he has been cast as Deathstroke on the CW's Arrow. Read on for details.

Bennet, mostly known for his role as Crixus from Starz's Spartacus has been cast as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke on the CW's Arrow. Deathstroke was previously introduced in flashbacks and will again be seen in Episode 9 said Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. So far, the masked villain has yet to remove his head-ware but that's all set to change now that Bennet's been awarded the role. It's thought that Slade Wilson, portrayed by Bennet, will return in the back half of Arrow's first season but in present day Starling City. You can expect Bennet to appear in multiple episodes.

Deathstroke was previously played by stuntman Jeffrey C. Robinson.

@WolvieCBM Nope they've already filmed that bit. Bennet will appear at some point during the last 9 episodes of season 1 in civilian attire.

Well he certainly looks he has the physical prowess for the role. I always pictured Stephen Lang for the part, but this guy could work. Just wish they would do something with the costume. Make it like the new 52 suit with some metal pieces on it.

@CampBlood - Inspired casting .. I sincerly hope that someone, anyone from FOX studios reads the articles on this site. Hugh is not Wolverine and never has been. he xmen films sadly have been a tremendous let down excluding Alan Cummings, Kelsey Grammer and Sir Patrick Stewart.

Great casting..i wonder if he will have grey/white hair?
Perhaps since China White has that hair color,Slade will not.

It's a tad annoying that the first appearance of Deathstroke he had both eyes,i suppose we will see him lose one in battle on the island.

In comics,the whole reason one side of face is black is due to his missing eye.
Well,despite that flaw i do like this actor.

@yossarian, i think it was meant to be a warning sign to people who came to the island along with being a hint that oliver took out deathstroke's eye.

I think the best scene with this show was when Deathstroke first appeared and fought Oliver's mentor. That fight sequence was beyond epic. More than you could ask from a tv show. I hope they keep the stunt guy for the fight scenes.
