Robert Rodriguez On Dennis Haysbert Replacing Michael Clarke Duncan In SIN CITY 2

Fan-favorite actor Michael Clarke Duncan recently passed away putting director Robert Rodriguez in a tough position as far as the role of Manute in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is concerned.

I imagine there's been a sorrowful moment or two on the set of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For with the recent loss of Michael Clarke Duncan. However, Rodriguez says Haysbert is doing a great job and is making the role his own."Dennis is going to bring his own thing to it but it's very much pays tribute to what Michael did and is very much in line with the rolethe director stated while chatting with MTV. "He's such a fantastic actor and an amazing presence. He's really exciting to work with. I've been adding dialogue for him. It's so fun."

The director acknowledged that Haysbert definitely won't be bringing the same level of physical presence to the role but said that's okay in thw world of Sin City. "People get to do things they don't normally get to do in the movies in Frank Miller's 'Sin City' world," Rodriguez continued. "We have a lot of license to disguise yourself and really be someone else, do something totally outside your normal career. I think that's why actors tend to gravitate toward these movies. It's a real license to have a lot of fun and do something different, to take a vacation from the work they normally do, to go out on a limb — and it's welcomed."

Haysbert certainly has a critical role that's crucial to the storyline surrounding Ava Lord, the titular dame of the film. It's a shame Duncan isn't around to capitalize on the memorable role he created.

Michael Clarke Duncan was an actors actor he played his roles with pure essence John Coffey, Kingpin, Manute. It sucks that they make plans for a Sin City sequel after two cast members die

MCD will always be replaceable. Thats a fact.

But i look forward to see Haysbert´s performance. Great actor they chose. Hope he gains some muscle for the role.

Of course they can make another sequel even after an actor passes...especially if they werent the lead role.
But I dont mean any disrespect. Michael Clarke Duncan will always be my Kingpin of choice!

You cannot replace Duncan.., but this is the next best thing in my opinion and I'm not insured by All State. The president from 24 and Pedro Cerrano: "..they have sh!tburgers here?"

The Green Mile, Slammin' Salmon, Kilowogg,//, hell even Armageddon. It really did suck to see him go.., especially with AMC blasting the Green Mile all year.
