Ernie Reyes Jr. Sizzle Reel For NINJA TURTLES

Ernie Reyes Jr. Sizzle Reel For NINJA TURTLES

Attention Michael Bay, Ernie Reyes Jr. (Keno in TMNT 2) would like to return to the franchise and choreograph the martial arts. Check out his impressive sizzle reel after the jump. If this is the concept, sign me up!

Reyes performed stunts for Donatello in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle films in addition to playing Keno in the sequel. Since then he's gone on to perform stunt work in Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Act of Valor. No clue if he'll get the gig but I like where his head is at.

Ninja Turtles will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) and produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. Principal photography is rumored to start this April.

Don't get me wrong I actually love Ernie Reyes Jr. He is without a doubt the only good thing in several of the projects he's worked on or appeared in, but many of those films in that clip he didn't have anything to do with. I own many of those movies and I'm pretty sure if he was in them or was a consultant on them he's as big a name as any of the stars of those pictures. Bay would do very well to have him as a consultant though. Unfortunately Mr. Reyes wouldn't be enough to get me in the theater to see another Michael Bay flick after the fiasco of the last two Transformers movies.

ELgUaSoN@ You could be right, there. It's up there with The Crow, as one of th most underrated comicbook adaptations of all time. They both stay faithful enough to the source material whilst also being something special by their own merits.

I really hope that Ernie gets in, it half feels like the movie will just go stereotypical blockbuster instead of finding an appropriate style. Obviously, CGI shouldn't be used, at least not completely. The costumes were fine in the 1990's, but now they could look EVEN better and be more flexible. You can also update their faces with CGI, like Beast in X-Men First Class. But that's not the thing. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DOESN'T have as much widespread destruction as Transformers and the Avengers, it's personal, and it's always personal. I see two ways of doing it -
1. Lots of grit put into it, but acceptable enough for kids (the 1990 movie did this PERFECTLY)
2. Look at a lot of martial arts movies, not American ones, but all the more modern asian ones. It doesn't have to be cheesy like Kill Bill, but the way the fighting moves along isn't anything like you see in American films.

The turtles definitely need to move like that! Pure awesome!:)

Hope the turtles are small like Ernie too.

About Turtles looks... Partly practical and partly CGI is the way to go!:)
They just need to find stuntguys or actors small enough to fit into the suits.

They need to look like four bulky little Tom Hardy´s which move like Ernie here.

TMNT >>>> The Crow

Both underrated just in different leagues. The first TMNT is still the best adaptation of the material (I do like the new NickToon too).

Lmao! I'm just now realizing that I was watching the same person all these years! I remember him from The Last Dragon, an episode of Hunter, and Sidekicks! I never knew he was Donatello, and I didn't know he was the same person in TMNT 2. Non-stereotypical thoughts taken too far!!!

@panther505 He was in almost every movie, and the ones he wasn't, like the Mortal Kombat rebirth web series, he was the fight coordinator and stunt superviser on.

I say they should do mocap they did in Avatar. Yes they looked a little carooney, but that was more their ultra bright skin color. for quick shots and side shots practical effects and costumes are the best way, to give it a more realistic feel, like if one of the turtles is in a shadowy alleyway and cant be seen, but they reach out and it showss their hand grab someone by the shoulder or something, it should look leathery and like an actual turtle's skin. the cgi and make-up and creature effects have gotten so much better in the last 20 years since the first tmnt came out.

I agree with letting him be the one in the mocap suit for the fight scenes, and Scott Adkins as well. both are smaller guys who are very impressive to watch in any fight. Adkins was the one during the fight scene where he played as Barakapool against Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber.
shit movie, but great fight scene

Another one of my childhood heroes. Mostly because when I was a little kid, I watched TMNT2 and Surf Ninjas a ridiculous amount of time.
