Han, Luke, And Leia All Expected To Return But Their Children Will Be The Stars In EPISODE VII

Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are all expected to return but as older incarnations. Reportedly, their offspring will be the stars in Episode VII which should make most of you Star Wars fans happy, right?

Showbiz 411 reports that all three original stars from the original series will return in their iconic roles.

"I just got back and saw a story running wild about Harrison Ford playing Han Solo in the new Star Wars revival. No one seems sure about it. I was told some time ago that Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill would be reprising their roles… the three main actors are definitely coming back.

But they won't be the main stars. Here's what they say about the primary players in the next trilogy.

It’s some time in the future. Han, Princess Leia (with a presumably better hairstyle), and Luke Skywalker will be a lot older. Their children will be the new main characters… the bigger question is, which young actors will play their kids?

Admittedly, I'm not much of a Star Wars buff but Luke has a son named Ben and Leia and Solo have three kids, Jacen, Anakin and Jaina. I won't go in to detail here and spoil it for those also unfamiliar with what happens after Episode VI but it's pretty easy to find out with a bit of research. There's nothing too shocking here as most expected the next installment to focus on the children of Han and Luke although there were a few rumors that the series would pick up right where Episode VI left off. More news as the story develops.

You dont say? Pictures, Images and Photos

I'm pretty sure it was obvious that the original trilogy characters weren't gunna be the main stars. I look forward to some fans getting pissed off at the idea of somebody OTHER than Luke, Leia and Han taking the spotlight.

what no way I thought we were going to see Old Han, Leia and Luke running around saving the galaxy seriously these so called rumours especially related to the "Episodes" just makes question online journalism, last time I checked stating the obvious that and younger set of actors will be the main focus.

Won't be surprised if I see couple of the kids from Super 8 pop up.

Since they're using children, I can picture this as being a galactic version of Super 8, the should get the youngsters from Super 8 to do it.

Jedi was 30 years ago so the"kids" won't necessarily be kids. I'd prefer to see them around the age of luke and leia in a new hope.

Has anyone seen Harrison's hair lately?! or should I say hair-plugs?! LOL. Give him a fedora for this one, too! All joking aside...

I just hope Han and Leia have small supporting roles and their children aren't cheap knock offs of their characters. Get good youthful actors and give them a solid story arc, which doesn't have to include their early childhood (learn from the abysmal Ani story of Menace and the wacky-pod racers).

Luke can have a greater role, but nothing more than Obi Wan's or Yoda's from Empire or Jedi. Use him for the Joker in a Batman reboot!

its the natural progression it has to be the Skywalker and Solo Kids. I think this can be the best set of movies if done right. I don't think they will stick to the kids from the book but if they do, there will be a lot of good stories..

children huh? So Star Wars episode 6 will be base on the young jedi knights story then.

A beautiful thing to see STAR WARS move out of the CLONE WAR era (the Dark Times indeed) and move forward from the classic trilogy with it's original cast.

As long as they dont bring in some douchebag CW actors or have the kids be 'kidds' then I'm fine with it.

Yes, this makes me happy, this is how it always should have been. So far, so good. Been waiting for this for 20 years, now. I always knew they'd do it, eventually. Even when Lucas said that he was cancelling the final trilogy, I knew it would still happen.
So far, so good.

The kids as the protagonist. I'm a fan of the EU but this is definitely Disney grabbing Lucasfilm by the balls. No good will come of this.

Prequels were about anakin. The originals were about Luke so I guess this new trilogy will be about Luke's son ben skywalker

They said THEIR CHILDREN and THEIR KIDS, they never said just KIDS. It's most likely they'll keep their actors in their 20's, or teenagers the most part, but I mean, with the actors being 60 and all, the kids are PROBABLY going to be grown up, but just the sons and daughter of the main 3.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 2/16/2013, 6:28 AM
It doesn't mean they will literally be "kids", but offspring of the main characters. After the shitfest that was the Phantom Menace, I'd be surprised if Disney went down that route. The entire destruction of the preqquels is based on Lucas' need to make Anakin a baby in the "first" film.
