The last bit of Arrow press from PalyFest is slowly trickling out but there are still a few interesting soundbites and interviews being uploaded and published. Speaking to CBR, Arrow executive producers and writers Marc Guggenheim and A.J. Kreisberg talk about what DCU characters they'd personally like to use in the future.

Growing up, Teen Titans was Andrew Kreisberg's favorite comic book and he was quick to name their leader as his first choice for a cameo.

"Dick Grayson and Nightwing were always my favorite. I doubt we'll ever get to that point. The bat-universe will never coincide with ours, but Nightwing would be my fantasy."

Note: Kreisberg went on to make it pretty clear that it's up to Warner Bros. not him as to whether we'll see any Bat-family characters.

Marc Guggenheim's choice has a bit more realistic chance of occurring.

""The Question -- Vic Sage -- I would love to tackle him at some point. I think he would fit really well in our little universe. So we talk about him a lot."

CW Arrow Nightwing cameo

If you're interested in seeing a few more potential cameo options, the feature listed in the teaser is a good place to start. New episodes of The CW's Arrow will resume Wednesday, March 20th at 8PM PST/EST.

The Bat-Verse will never coincide? Lets just bring in Firefly, Deadshot and Huntress and a random DC city. How about Nightwings hometown? ok sure!

The question would be amazing, but if he's not wearing his faceless mask, I'd be pissed.

This show is great but the downfall like he said it is their little universe! That little universe really limits them on characters or makes characters with super powers regular people!

But yes please do The Question!

Just another example of DC being dumbdumb

You know they would totally screw up The Question, but yes it would be unquestionably cool, lol.

Speaking of The Question, watch "Dick Tracy". Look for the "The Blank".

-just my two cents-

@ Gizmo I am confident it is not DC calling the shots it the producers, directors etc... when it comes to this little universe!

Ummm I don't know if this guy knows but he already has Batman characters on his show. Deadshot, Huntress, and Firefly are all Batman universe characters. Hell Batman has even had his conflicts with Deathstroke on occasion.

The Question could totally fit into the Arrow universe. Also, if they can use the deathstroke mask then I don't see why they couldn't use a faceless mask for Vic.

In terms of using Nightwing or other major Batman characters I think they'd be running the risk of overshadowing GA... Although, I think we'd all love to see it happen.

I dont want powers. Don't we have enough with super powers? In comics there are many titles that have 0 powers. Can't this show be for people like us?

I think that Question would rock, but they can't make him straight faceless. maybe give me a mask that kinda like Deathstroke's in the series: It covers the whole head and is made mostly of a clothe he could see through.

You can't say "The Bat universe will never coincide with ours" when there are 3 episodes with Huntress in them.

If they add Question to the series, I hope they rip this scene from the JLU cartoon. Its too hilariously funny especially seeing how GA and Supergirl had this elaborate plan to sneak in and he just does this.

i like the question, but if you don't want to bring in bat family, why the f are you mentioning blüdhaven, and having huntress in the mix?
TerminalVoyd
TerminalVoyd - 3/15/2013, 1:28 AM
@Milling

For the umpteenth time, it's been clarified that inclusion of the Bat-Univese proper is up to WB, NOT Andrew Kriesberg.

The Huntress, in terms of Helena Bertinelli, is peripheral to the core Bat-family and can be done as a stand alone character without direct or indirect reference to Batman Deadshot has long since moved beyond his Batman connections in the comics, so again, another character that can just as easily function independently without direct or indirect reference to Batman. And Blüdhaven, unless mentioned in conjunction with Nightwing, Batman or Gotham City, is just another comic easter egg that can stand alone without direct or indirect reference to Batman.

All of those also open doors toward a potential interpretation of Batman down the line on the show, but none are beholden to do so by themselves through their inclusion. This isn't rocket science people.

Technically Huntress is a JSA character.

@TerminalVoid: I notice that you left Firefly out of your itemization.

By your philosophy, they could technically have Jim Gordon appear in Arrow and still independently function without any direct or indirect reference to Batman.
TerminalVoyd
TerminalVoyd - 3/16/2013, 3:23 AM
@ChanceX74

I forgot about him. Giiven his lower tier status in comparison to other known "name brand" Batman characters (like Jim Gordon), and how heavily they re-imagined him, he was pretty unrecognizable outside of his sharing a name and the facial scars with his comic book inspiration.

If you thought about it for a few minutes you'd realize just how much of a nitpick your example really was.
