MAN OF STEEL Cast And Crew On Superman '78

The Man of Steel cast and crew reflect on Donner's Superman '78 film. "I've never seen it, my one, true reference to Superman is the old black and white tv show from the '50s," says Russell Crowe.

"I've seen stills, I've seen photographs," says Russell Crowe of Marlon Brando's Jor-El. "But those photographs led me to really never want to watch what that was [laughs]. The costumes look hokey as shit. I prefer my brand of 'On the Waterfront' Brando," he added. The rest of the cast and crew are more forgiving of the classic Donner film. Watch to see their take.

I like that Russel Crowe is the only one with enough balls to not kiss butt to the Donner films.

Instead he's using the 50's show. Good for him. George Reeves is VASTLY underrated as Superman

at russel crowe admitted it, unlike a lot of actors act and say they did when they know they are lying.

Exactly @DarkKnight7- I completely agree. At least Russel Crowe doesn't bullshit anyone. Plus I'm happy he never saw those movies. It means he can give viewers a brand new take without having Marlon Brando in the back of his mind the whole time.

Fresh start people. No more Donner.

1978 Superman is a epic movie, perfect for that time. Man of Steel is perfect for today.

We'll always honor and remember Christopher Reeve as Superman. But those were movies for their time. They don't hold up to modern interpretations.

Man of Steel looks to be a movie of this time. The character of Superman deserves to remain relevant even more so than Christopher Reeve deserves to be honored.

Superman is above Christopher Reeve and I'm sure he would be the first person to admit that if he were still around.

Crowe, you ignorant douche. It was 1978. You couldn't have asked for anything more and you should know that.

BTW, I saw Les Miserables. Your singing...(s[racial slur] s[racial slur]),now THAT was hokey as sh*t.
