MTV caught up with The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel screenwriter David S. Goyer at the red carpet premiere of Man of Steel and put him to the question about Justice League and Batman. We've heard news that Goyer was writing Justice League but so far, information has all been from second-hand sources. For now, it appears the only thing truly confirmed is that Goyer is returning alongside director Zack Snyder for the Man of Steel sequel. Touching on Justice League, Goyer state, "If I were offered it, I wouldn't say no. Well, what are you going to do after Batman and Superman? How do you top yourself? I can't go back to Metamorpho after this."
When asked about what other Easter Eggs, Goyer stated, "We mentioned

S.T.A.R. Labs] at one point, that's kind of a connection to Cyborg." As many DC Comics readers will note, with the launch of The New 52, long-time Teen Titans member Cyborg circumvented that past association and is now one of the founding members of the Justice League. With talk swirling around a potential Justice League film, is it really just a coincidence that Goyer specifically mentions the character?
And when asked whether Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy could ever mesh with what Zack Snyder created in Man of Steel, Goyer added, "The 'Dark Knight' films do not exist in the same universe. Zack [Snyder] has gone on record. The fact that we have Wayne Industries on the satellite, Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. Lex Luthor exists in this universe. Other metahumans do exist in this universe, so the hope is, depending on how the film does, that we'll be able to roll into some other films."
