After lightly touching on 'Game of Thrones', actor Tom Hiddleston talked about working with 'Thor: The Dark World' director Alan Taylor who comes from the hit HBO fantasy drams. Said Hiddleston, "Alan is amazing. He has this extraordinary breadth of vision about 'The Dark World' - just the scale of it, what he imagined Asgard to be, what the depth and the specificity of his imagination about extending the reach of the film and taking the audience into parts of the 'Thor Universe' that they haven't seen yet, I've found that really exciting." Good news from Hiddleston, as his remarks come amid recent reports that Taylor and Marvel Studios are locked in a contentious battle over the runtime for 'Thor: The Dark World.'

Moving on, below, the actor eloquently states why Joss Whedon is enjoying such a vast amount of success these days.

I just don't get Marvel.

They apparently aren't giving Alan Taylor any creative freedom....yet they gave Shane Black a shit ton of it.

Why can't they pick directors who will honor the source material and then let them do their own thing?

Come on Marvel Studios get your head outta your @ss and stop messing with success. You seemed for the most part put your trust in the creators and let them do there thing, don't go screwing it up now.

You said it right there. The word is apparently. People need to stop believing in every rumor that's reported.

There may have been some discussions and maybe even a few debates but both Marvel and Taylor are professionals. They both took a few weeks off to come back at it with new perspective, which is not unheard of. Whedon did something similar on Avengers so I doubt anyone is getting fired. I'm confident it'll work out alright.

Well, Alan Taylor may have problems with Marvel, but all the filming is nearly done and there is just a lot of post-production at this point. They're not going to fire him, just veto him if he tried to make the movie "too long" (which means over 1:50 because any longer and you can't get the "right" number of theaters per day per movie house to show it. Basically, this is some accountant at Marvel trying to maximize the profits.

TheRealRemyLebeau - People won't acknowledge that, they believe everything that they read just because someone reported it.

Tom Hiddleston is incapable of badmouthing anyone, really. Still, it will make Marvel look foolish should they fire Taylor.

Vaguely surprised they have not given a nod to, or even hinted at Valkyrie in the Thor movies. Especially as they are making a Dr.Strange movie in phase 3, almost got an original Defenders team.
