New 'BEWARE THE BATMAN' Promotional Image Reveals New Villains

You've already been informed that Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mr. Toad, Magpie and Ra's Al Ghul would be troubling The Dark Knight in the new animated action cartoon "Beware the Batman." Now see four new bad guys also joining the mix.

A new promotional image for Cartoon Network's "Beware the Batman" has surfaced (via CBR) which features eight members of the rogues gallery that will be plaguing Gotham's Dark Knight starting this Saturday. We've already seen four of the villains in various promotional material but here's a first look at what appears to be the Ultra-Humanite, Humpty Dumpty and two other villains that are difficult to identify (best guess, Talia al Ghul and a Kobra member?). Make your best guesses in the comments below.

""Part of Cartoon Network's DC Nation Block, 'Beware the Batman," is a CGI animated program debuting on July 13th at 10 AM. The series follows the exploits of Batman, Alfred and Katana as they battle evil-doers such as Anarky, Magpie, Ra's al Ghul, Tobias Whale, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad, Humpty Dumpty, King Kraken, Axel Alex, and Ten-Eyed Man. Anarky will be the primary antagonist of the first season. The series producers have stated that Batman is in the early stages of his career in maybe year five or six. Alfred is characterized as a MI6, Sean Connery - James Bond type retired secret agent who once possessed physical skills on par with Batman during his prime but now he's in his 60s. Sam Register serves as executive producer with Glen Murakami and Mitch Watson handling the finer details as producers. Sam Liu, Rick Morales and Curt Geda will direct individual episodes."

I actually like Anarky, but why the f*ck is he in all white?! What's the reasoning? If he had somewhat of a classic look I'd be cool with it, but I don't like this new Anarky.

@nibs the crapping on the general cannon, the art is horrible, and the trailer looks dumb as shit. All legitimate reasons for pre-air hate. If its good, then no one will care..looks like shit and if it plays like shit...well it will go away.

In their defense..everyone said same about GL series and it had some good moments

This looks terrible lol. The CG looks sub-par and the villains and story look pretty bad too.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we lost Young Justice and Green Lantern TAS for this and Teen Titans Go.

Exited for this show. If anyone can take over where Young Justice and Green Lantern left off, it's Batman and the Teen Titans.

I'll give the show a chance, but I'm really not expecting much. If it turns out great, then wonderful, if not, I won't be surprised. If the first season turns out to be good, then hopefully we'll start to see Joker, Harley, Two-Face, Riddler, Penguin, Freeze, Ivy, Clayface, Croc, Scarecrow, Hatter, Ventriloquist, Black Mask, Strange, etc. Maybe it's a good thing, they're not pulling out all the best cards at once, it leaves room for growth in the show. SN: I pray that when they do Joker, they get John Dimaggio or someone like him, he did a great job in the Red Hood film. I don't want another Joker voiced like the Young Justice one.

I'm in the minority opinion here but I'm glad that they're using villains outside of the comfort zone. Maybe not so much with Humpty Dumpty or Mr. Toad as they're really lame but BTAS used a few villains that were obscure and raised their profiles significantly with that exposure. I can safely say that a majority of people here were introduced to some of those characters through BTAS. I mean, the point is that it should be seen as a positive that they aren't going to keep trying to do different versions of the same stories right away. It brings in new and old fans something new to watch. But Anarchy's costume does suck.

Well yes. As you said, Morrison created Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad, so it's not a coincidence. It helps move some pieces around the board so they're not burning off the the same rogues gallery heavy hitters after five or six episodes on a continuous loop.

They do pretty much look exactly like the action figures. If not for the joints, you'd never notice.



I'm hoping the writing is at least fun, or this 'toon will be one big toy ad/play pattern guide with nothing else to it.

First it oh no not another Batman show!Now it's oh no they're using lesser known villains instead of the same ones they've used in every continuity.Give it a chance you might like it.
