Micro-News: 'GAME OF THRONES' Season 4 Directors, Wolverine's Claws And Star Wars

The directors for "Game of Thrones" season 4 have been revealed and the list (gasp) doesn't include the "Red Wedding" director. James Mangold discusses the look of Wolverine in his latest outing and Neil Blomkamp says he's written an 18-pg treatment for a "District 9" sequel.

EW has revealed the list of director for "Game of Thrones" Season 4 and the list doesn't include David Nutter who directed last season shocking episode that depicted the events of the "Red Wedding." Also revealed is that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss write the majority of Season 4's ten episodes with GRRM penning his customary single ep along with 'Thrones" co-producer Bryan Cogman writing another two. Here's the full list of directors below:

Episode 1: David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
Episode 2: Alex Graves
                                                   Episode 3: Alex Graves
                                                   Episode 4: Michelle MacLaren
                                                   Episode 5: Michelle MacLaren
                                                   Episode 6: Alik Sakharov
                                                   Episode 7: Alik Sakharov
                                                   Episode 8: Alex Graves
                                                   Episode 9: Neil Marshall
                                                   Episode 10: Alex Graves

Hugh Jackman sports a more real-world look in "The Wolverine" and the decision stems from the preference of director James Mangold. Speaking to EW, he touched on his decision to redesign the claws, stating, " Yes, we retooled them a little. I found that in some of the comics illustrations that I really liked the most, they had these bevel cuts. They were faceted, that would be the best way to describe them. In the last [motion] picture, they were pretty smooth, and we decided to take it to a different direction. It’s more utilitarian. The cuts in the blades make them more useful, more lethal, and they also catch the light more and in interesting ways.”

Maybe this is a spoiler but I believe Mangold is speaking facetiously. Still I'll use the spoiler tag concerning Mangold's description of where the film opens which sounds like it may have portents to "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Elsewhere (at /Film), we have "Elysium" director Neil Blomkamp discussing two topics of interest, a sequel to "District 9" and his rumored involvement with "Star Wars: Episode VII." Concerning Star Wars, it was previously hinted but now Blomkamp confirms to Wired Magazine that he was indeed approached "gingerly" by Simon Kinsberg about directing one of the installments. In the same interview, Blomkamp also reveals that he's written an 18-page treatment for "District 10" but refuses to give any details other than to say that it's "really [frick]ing cool."

So basically the X-Men have disbanded, the academy is no more and shut down and everyone is off on their own in the world as is Wolverine...Kinda liking that idea, makes him the loner he's supposed to be :]

Looks like episodes 3,8 and 10 are the huge episodes of Game of Thrones for director Alex Graves. Can't wait for season 4.

Excited as well as nervous about D9. It's one of those films that's perfect alone, yet you still want more which could ruin it.

Hell yes on District 10. And what the Academy gone? Even more reason why X3 was awful.
