Steven McQueen For Nightwing On The CW's ARROW?

The Vampire Diaries' Steven McQueen has teased a meeting with the Arrow producers about playing a superhero on the show. McQueen makes no bones about which one he'd like to play in particular.

Steven R McQueen Nightwing

Steven McQueen is already an actor on The CW as he stars on The Vampire Diaries. And the network has no qualms about using actors on more than one of their shows as Kelly Hu plays China White on Arrow and also costars on upcoming drama, The Hundred. With that said, it's entirely plausible that McQueen could guest star on Arrow and he's already indicated that he's met with producers about a superhero role. And while there's no official word from the Arrow executive team about who McQueen would be potentially playing, he definitely has his own personal preference, Dick Grayson aka Nightwing. As a Batman character, I've long speculated that Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) left Starling City and traveled to Gotham, where she found and trained under the Bat-family. Maybe she returns to Starling City with one of the members in tow? But that's my own fan speculation, what do you think of McQueen as Nightwing?

Of course, there's also the fact that Nightwing will be played by "someone" in Batman vs Superman. Flash is also rumored to appear in the film and Grant Gustin is set to play the character on Arrow. Could cameos on Arrow lead to cameos for the actors in the Man of Steel sequel?

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

He looks better than the choices for Batman vs Superman...

Looks like he could play Nightwing.

Actually, none of the Batman vs. Superman rumors have been confirmed, so the Nightwing appearance is most likely a fluke.

However, I would not be against Nightwing showing up in this show. As long as he's a better fighter than Arrow, lol.

I think it could work.

He's not as bad as Colton, and he actually looks the part.

Sure, why not?

Not, for the movies, I'd want someone different.

Ezra Miller would be my choice. He's a very talented actor, his performances in "Perks" and "Kevin" are fantastic.

Doesnt look he part. I like the other choices overall better. I am mainly rooting for Ezra Miller or Penn Badgley though. Ezra Miller needs more recognition.

He's only a better choice if you only take looks into account.

Which seems to be what Comic Book Fans do.

I mean, some of you thought Scott Adkins was a sound choice to play Batman...

So, could the characters on Arrow just go to the big screen with Supes and Bats? Wouldn't that be an original transition apart from Marvel's way?

If he's Nightwing and Nightwing is on Man of Steel, I guess there's no chance of Arrow being in the same universe :(

If they confirm Nightwing in BvsS I hope this is enough to make it clear that they are keeping their universes separate. But this IS quite the coincidence. Perhaps he could be in the movie too...

Don't do it WB!

@ MrCBM

We have no idea what is going at this point. You have Amell posting JL pics on his facebook hinting he might be in the JL. Now you have this dude posting a pic of him as Nightwing the same time tha MOS is supposed to be looking for a Nightwing. Hmmmm makes you wonder if they are going to link the two.

The JL might show up in Arrow at some point, tho. Not the Movieverse JL.

There could be two separate universes. Arrow, imo, wouldn't fit in the MoS universe.

What the hell is going on?! DC please answer this: is Arrow connected or not? Why the [frick] would you have two Nightwings and two Flashes and two Green Arrows? I'm so confused on what's going on between TV and Film UGH!

More chance of Nightwing showing up as Nightwing on Arrow than in Sage and Milo.

Still totally possible to introduce the 2nd and 3rd tier on tv and transition them to the big screen. Smaller checks, more ambition.
codydriscollsrightarm
codydriscollsrightarm - 11/12/2013, 5:13 AM
What's there to be confused about?

So far it's not connected.

Were you confused when "Superman Returns" came out while "Smallville" was still on? Or did you think the two things were connected?

Why in the Sam Hill is Nightwing going to be on arrow? He's a contemporary of Roy, not Oliver.

Arrow is a pretty goood show, but if its not connected to the movies, then whats the point. I would love to see Stephen Amell make a cameo in batman vs. superman. That would be awesome. It would show that Warner Bros is taking the whole Justice League thing seriously.
codydriscollsrightarm
codydriscollsrightarm - 11/12/2013, 5:16 AM
The point is that Arrow is a good show. It's a good show without being connected to anything.

@spidey62

What do you mean "whats the point"? Does a show have to be connected to a larger universe to be enjoyed?
Masterpace
Masterpace - 11/12/2013, 5:17 AM
Oh and If he would be adult Dick Grayson trained but Batman [maybe some hints in the show] he should be way better fighter than Oliver and others...really. Maybe a tie with Big smile on his face to show that he's not really taking it too seriously.

If DC is trying build a cohesive universe, than wouldn't be logical to include Arrow to help expand it more? If you're getting Flash, the League of Assassins, other TV shows, and Nightwing, why not connect them? Though I could see how they wouldn't since Arrow isn't that popular among the general audience compared to AOS. I guess we're back to the smallville days SMH -_-
Chupathingy66
Chupathingy66 - 11/12/2013, 5:22 AM
I don't think Nightwing should be shown on TV before Batman, unless he is used to set up Batman coming in, and since we will probably never see Batman on the show, we should never see Nightwing either. That goes for Robin and Batgirl as well.
Rokyn
Rokyn - 11/12/2013, 5:23 AM
Besides, Arrow is still really good on it's own so I don't care if they connect them or not. Just build a cohesive universe and work towards the big goal: Justice League.
