Continuing with our weekly VS articles gives us an interesting match up between two of Marvel and DC's fan favorites. Once again, please try and refrain from looking at this as a Marvel VS DC but rather a hero against hero battle.

In one corner we have everybody's favorite wall crawler The Amazing Spider-Man, who has appeared on television and in 3 major films with a new version pending. I am almost positive that everyone reading this is familiar with all of his powers so I am not going to burden you with reading them again.

In the other corner we have Batman the most dangerous man alive, who has appeared on television and in many movies with a new film on the way. Again, I'm fairly certain everyone reading this needs no explanation as to his capabilities.

May the best hero win....

Man, this is gonna be a close one. I haven't read a Spidey comic in over a decade, but the main thing I remember is just how POWERFUL Spidey actually is! In my opinion, his abilities are greatly underestimated by people not in the know. Combine that with an intellect to rival Batman's.....

Spidey wins this.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 10/16/2010, 10:35 AM
Maybe I was wrong in the article when I assumed everybody knew about Spidey's powers. I don't think there is any way in Hell Bats catches up with Spideys...

1. Sense
2. Speed
3. Strength
4. He can take much more than Batman can dish out all day long.
5. He is just as smart as Batman only much, much faster.

Really no competition. Spidey pummels Batman in whatever situation they are in. If Spider Man connects just one time on Bats ( and he damn sure would) it's all over.

What Batman lacks in super-powers he
more than makes up for it in prep,
experience,weaponry,and he's down
right nasty when he needs to be.

Batman has went toe to toe with
the Legion of Super-heroes and
they had their hands full!!

Spider-man on the other hand has gone
toe to toe with the HULK and several other
marvel heavy hitters.

Spider-man is no push over with his
spider-like powers and intellect
so Im seeing this fight going either way.

Oh how I hate these DC vs Marvel people. If you really think about Batman will lose I like him but who can he really beat really. Most heroes in these comics have powers something Batman doesn't. I just can't see him winning at all.

@ talontd

i agree, this is one close fight.

spider-man abilties strength, speed & agility are all superior to batman's i.e if he hit batman he'd know about it.

but batman fighting style & his brain power maybe enough to defeat spider-man.

i'm gonna say....batman by bug spray.

Spider-Man.No contest. All he has to do is web up Bats and lay him out. He'd damn near break his jaw.Spider-Man is a very formidable opponent.Because of his agility and dexterity, he'd be flipping and contorting his body all over the place. His most useful ability is his Spidey Seanse, as it would warn him of almost anything Batman sends his way.I'm sure Spider-Man's constant wisecracks and nonsensical bantering would throw Bats off, as well.

Too many people act like Batmans a freakin' god or something. Batman shows up to a place designated by a giant spotlight(idiot). A sniper from a 1000 yards away could waste his ass when he shows up. Hows that for realistic.
UltimateAvenger
UltimateAvenger - 10/16/2010, 11:03 AM
the answer to everyone one of these polls is BATMAN every time. and especially in this one. big fan of both, spidey does posses greater strength and agility but he does not have batman's ability to be a step ahead of every opponent. spidey sense or no spidey sense, batman gets the upper hand through out the fight. he'll walk away with a few cracked ribs, broken forearm and a concussion but he'll walk away the victor. which is more than i can say for spidey. BATMAN WINS!

I'll concede Bats the brain juice to think his way out of a cocoon of web, but I'll bet you dollar to donuts he can't do it before your friendly neighborhood wall walker knocks the guano out of him!! 'nuff said!

Pokeysteve - 10/16/2010, 11:04 AM
Why would you even make this poll haha? Just to get a rise out of people huh? After several bat related wise cracks, spidey takes this with minimal trouble. People give Batman wayyyyy too much credit. Especially when it comes people fearing him. What is there to be afraid of really? He won't kill anyone and then he sends them off with the cops and they're out in a few months. It's a joke. A beating and a few broken bones is the most they have to worry about. That concludes my Saturday morning Batman rant =D

Ok so if it's Superman vs Batman who wins. Come on man I don't care how smart Batman is he will never be able to beat Spidey
Nemeres
Nemeres - 10/16/2010, 11:15 AM
If you cite Spider-Man's superpowers as the reason he wins, just remember how many superpowered villains Batman's been pitted against.

The Bat is smarter, rougher, sleeker. He wins.

OdinsBeard - 10/16/2010, 11:17 AM
Talontd@ exactly. i think that's what i loved so much about civil war. it put Peter back in the spotlight and showed how important Rogers and Stark knew that he was. shit, back in the day they did Spider-Man vs SUPERMAN! Parker also has a genius intellect, same as Wayne. i think the thing that will swing this vote in Batman's favor is just how the characters a portrayed. Batman is the master crime-fighter who always has a plan, Spider-Man is the down on his luck, sometimes-reluctant hero. Batman may always have a plan but two things he doesn't have are spider-sense and superpowers.

some people i think MIGHT be able to beat him are:

Thor
Superman (yes, superman idc about the history)
Nick Fury
Spider-Man
Wolverine

Pokeysteve@ i like your style!
PartyHard
PartyHard - 10/16/2010, 11:18 AM
How could Batman win? If they are both out to kill each other, then Spider-Man would actually kill Batman with one punch, and Batman wouldn't land a single punch. Even if he did, it wouldn't even do anything to Spider-Man. Unless someone thinks of some specific thing Batman could prepare to beat Spider-Man, like creating an antidote for the radiation in his blood or something else really ridiculous, I'm just not buying it.
SmokinIndo
SmokinIndo - 10/16/2010, 11:18 AM
YES! Finally! This is by far one of the greatest match-ups! Spider-Man would win BECAUSE:

-his spider-sense would warn him of any sneak attacks that Bats has got planned.

-Bats has mastered so many types of fighting styles, but Spider-Man brings his own unique fighting style to the table that Batman can't predict.

-Spidey's rogues gallery is SO much more dangerous than that of Bats. Spidey has tackled the Rhino and bested Juggernaut and even gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk.

-Spider-Man is far more agile and stronger than Batman.

-Bats is certainly one of the smartest. But Spidey ain't a pushover. Anyone who knows Spider-Man knows of his scientific achievements and amazing intellect. Spider-Man's outsmarted his foes before...including Iron Man and Captain America.

I know there's gonna be a whole lot of ignorant "with prep time, he'll win" arguments here, but what's Bats gonna do to prepare for Spidey? That Spider-Sense is gonna prove to be one hell of an obstacle for Bats to get around.

mtx100 - 10/16/2010, 11:19 AM
Spider-man hands down and Im a die hard Batman fan but in all reality, Spidey has practically no weaknesses, is much faster, stronger and agile than Batman, has his Spider sense to warn him of any of Batman's attacks. In many ways Bats resembles Spidey villain The Green Goblin and Spidey has been thrashing him for decades.

@ Nemeres

So Spider Man is a pushover
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 10/16/2010, 11:21 AM
Nemeres: Spidey is every bit as smart as Batman.

Whenever you are facing someone with Spider-Mans speed you have to either be much stronger than he is in order to take a beating long enough to bash him down. Or you have to be just as fast to have a chance. Batman is neither and he isn't going to outsmart Parker. Spider-Man uses his brains also, thats how he is able to consistently take down villains who would be considered out of his league.
AshleyWilliams
AshleyWilliams - 10/16/2010, 11:32 AM
Spiey may have the physical attributes, but Batman is smarter and is better at fighting.

In this one, Brains > Brawn. Batman wins.
AshleyWilliams
AshleyWilliams - 10/16/2010, 11:36 AM
Spidey is smart in science, math, etc. Batman has that PLUS tactical advantages.

Not to mention ULIMITED resources.

Batman FTW in this case.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 10/16/2010, 11:37 AM
Spider-Man. If he can take on a villain like Morlun and survive, he can sure as he'll beat a normal human being like Batman. Yes, Bruce is clever, but Peter's spider-sense would easily help him to overcome that particular tactical advantage! Spidey would kick his ass. 'Nuff said. :)

Dont get me wrong,Batman wouldn't beat him easily. It would be a tough one.

It would ALSO look cool on the Big Screen.
ManicCynic
ManicCynic - 10/16/2010, 11:42 AM
With Batman's standard gadgets he brings into battle, it would definitely be a good fight, but Spidey would come out on top in a match where they just meet up and fight.

Batman would need to fight him once in order to figure out how to beat him the second time, but he would definitely lose the first match, mainly because of the Spider-Sense.
AshleyWilliams
AshleyWilliams - 10/16/2010, 11:43 AM
@Josh-Batman has survived a fight with Superman before.

Batman has beaten people like Killer Croc(The Lizard) and Clayface(Sandman). Batman would win IMO.

Out of ten fights, 5-5.
CommanderCool
CommanderCool - 10/16/2010, 11:45 AM
Batman would win...with hands tied behind is back. He's just that badass
PartyHard
PartyHard - 10/16/2010, 11:45 AM
@NightAvenger You know Spider-Man couldn't possibly be hurt by Batman's punches right? Batman wouldn't even be able to land a punch on him. He's far faster and could predict his every move. Spider-Man can lift a Semi Truck. A single punch would kill Batman. There is no way Batman could possibly win in a physical fight.
Nemeres
Nemeres - 10/16/2010, 11:45 AM
Batman as a whole includes his gadgets, weapons and vehicles, as well as the years of self-imposed training and self-control. He's had the privilege of taking his time to form himself, while Parker was just thrown into superhero life. If Spidey is like a seasoned police sergeant, Batman is the head of the US Army special operation team (or whatever). Spidey's not a pushover, but he's just not as smart as Batman. That's the thing about Spidey, the reason that you're supposed to relate to him, he's a regular guy with some extra responsability, whereas Batman is mentally extraordinary in every sense. Spidey's scientifical knowledge is too small potatoes for Batman. As for the Spidey sense - what, has he never taken a hit?
SmokinIndo
SmokinIndo - 10/16/2010, 11:47 AM
@NightAvenger

Spider-Man is smart TACTICALLY as well. He disarmed Captain America completely by predicting his Shield's exact trajectory. He sent Cap running home.

Unlimited Resources? What's Bats gonna do? Drop a nuke on Spidey? Spidey has faced foes with Unlimited Resources as well. He constantly gives the Green Goblin the beat-down, even when he's got diplomatic immunity.
