Earlier in the week, you may have heard about the release of the trailer for The Iron Giant: Signature Edition, a remastered version of the classic film being released in theatres later this year. Now, The Iron Giant star Vin Diesel has teased a sequel may very well be on its way.

I have been very lucky to have played so many interesting characters... one of the first and one of my favorites is... the Iron Giant.P.s. Don't be surprised when you hear WB announce the sequel.

Now, one important to think to note is Diesel's wording. He says WHEN WB announce the sequel, not IF. That sure sounds like Diesel is pretty confident with that statement. On top of that, this wouldn't be the first time the Guardians of the Galaxy star teased news regarding one of his films that turned out to be accurate. Remember, he used his facebook page to tease his role in GoTG, which obviously turned out to be true when the actor was cast as the lovable tree-like alien Groot. He has also been teasing the potential of him being cast as Inhuman King Black Bolt in 2019's Inhumans film, though this has yet to be confirmed.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the classic animated film should be left alone, or are you excited by the idea of a sequel? Let me know in the comments section below, and be sure to hit that that thumbs up and share this article!

I love The Iron Giant. Still, I am not too sure how I feel about a possible sequel. Would it be 2D animation? I do not think that I would want to see a 3D computer-animated sequel to The Iron Giant; I would prefer 2D animation. Unfortunately, I think that considering today's market, Warner Bros. might see less money in that and opt for 3D computer animation instead.

Yes! The Iron Giant is one of my favorite childhood films. Still waiting in that Blu-ray release...

As long as it stays 2D and not becomes a 3D crap movie. I could totally see WB doing this to get on Brad Bird's good side, so he'll make a Shazam film. I feel like he'd make it into one of the most fun filled movie, if so.

I ONLY want a sequel if Brad Bird and co. return.

He and his team are what made it great...and the only thing worse than NOT getting a sequel to this masterpiece would be getting a BAD sequel to this masterpiece.

And I am SO hyped to see this in theaters. I grew up with this film, and I can't wait to see it the way it was meant to be seen!
