In an interview with Brian Azzarello, the head writter for Dc's new 52 Wonder Woman, coventrytelegraph got an exclusive interview in which he describes a little bit about what the next Wonder Woman will be like. When Asks about continuity he stated

"Actually I can't do whatever I want,I'll tell you this though, the first issue's all done and we're running right up to the edge, as far as what we can get away with. We're pushing the envelope with this one. I firmly believe that that's what this character needs right now. I can only speak for myself, were doing a soft reboot, we're not getting rid of her history or anything like that."

What really made things interesting is his opinion on Wonder Woman's pants and that this new Wonder Women serious could be compared to a horror book.

"People need to relax, she's not wearing pants. But it's not going to be a superhero book. I can guarantee you that, it's not a superhero book. It's a horror book."

So what do you think about the new 52 and do you think do you like Wonder Woman better with or without the pants?

Putting puerile masculine douchebaggery aside (novel concept, I know), Wonder Woman very briefly looked like the sort of superhero both men and women could read comics about without embarrassment, even a positive step forward for the genre.

Azzarrello?

Horror? Wow. Ummmm, WW seems like an odd book for horror. Does the lasso even work on creatures of the occult?

Also, her title logo reminds me alot of Star Wars logo. But I guess the color change at least reflects the apparent discarding of the yellow in her costume.

I think he is just trying to get the point across of the type of carnage and blood and gore that will be present in the title. Its essentially a mythology story so I think its a good direction. lets take Wonder Woman seriously for a chance and not just as DC's token heroine.

I'm sure he was mainly joking with all this, I have read some of his work and I think he will give Wonder Woman a great new direction, whats wrong with her being a bit more gritty, Greek Mythology is known for being like that to begin with, so going with that route might be helpful.

Oh people get over yourselves about pants or no pants. I did not like when they messed with Wonder Woman's outfit as it was perfect as is. Wonder Woman is something to be proud of. She conveys that a woman can be sexy, along with smart and powerful. She is a role model for women.

pants are lame.....wonderwoman doesnt wear pants....GI JANE does.

We need a real Wonder Woman....an image that can be taken seriously while not wearing any pants. It CAN be done.

I'm getting a kind of xena warrior princess vibe from this book and I loved that show.
