Friday's season finale caused a lot of hype for both fans and new comers. Even most of the Smallville haters gave in good reviews about the episode. Episode Salvation gave numerous cliff hangers that would lead up to the future of Smallville.
Original Superman suit cliff hanger:
First let’s talk about the cliff hanger when Clark opened a present from his mom (Martha Kent) and we seen the red and blue Superman Suit we all know and love from the mythology in the reflection of his eyeball. Well a lot of people think he’s going to stall from using the suit until the final Season Finale at the last minute or second. Even though that sounds right because we are in the Smallville (not Superman) world, we could get enough of him in the suit in the 10th season. I think we'll get him in his costume either in the first episode or a few episodes later.
That scene was one of the cliff hangers and it wouldn't make since if they waited till the very end to show it. Like last season finale, they showed Clark’s new getup (without the "S" symbol) before he told Chloe that he was ending his life as Clark Kent. Then in the first episode of season 9 he had the same getup but with the S symbol.
2013 Dream Sequence or was it?
This was no doubt one of the best scenes in the episode. But it is a possibility that this isn’t any old fashioned dream sequence a person has because that’s what they want in life or meditate on it everyday. Some do not know this but Clark, like many Kryptonians, can see the future. On multiple occasions Clark has been shown to be able to see glimpses of the future. In episode Commencement of the 4th season, Clark has a dream in which red, yellow, and blue lights come together to form a meteor.
He is awakened by his parents, who say that Clark was yelling, "It's coming!" in his sleep. Meanwhile in outer space meteors start flying towards Earth. Jor-El was able to show Clark what his future would have been like, if his ship had not made it to Earth. While not technically precognition, it displays an ability to manipulate time and the future that goes well beyond precognition. Also, even though not possible, we might get a Metropolis show and the dream might be a nod to that if they ever get to. It could also be a cliff hanger that they won’t show in the future but you know that he will be Superman forever or something like that. Oh and do we have our actor for James Bartholomew Olsen? They wouldn't have showed him if they didn't have an actor for him. If they weren't using that actor then they would have never showed his face.
Lois figures out that The Blur is actually mild-mannered Clark Kent:
This was also an interesting cliff hanger for fans. Lois appears to have discovered the true identity of The Blur is Clark, almost exactly the same way Teri Hatcher's Lois finds out Superman is Clark in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In Lois &Clark, Clark holds Lois' right cheek, and this is exactly what Superman does later on in the very same episode, and at that moment Lois realizes he's Clark. In Smallville, the unique touch is on Lois' left shoulder. How Lois actually discovers the truth is through a very passionate kiss with The Blur that at the end she whispers Clark name in realization and amazement. So in season 10, she might go Chloe’s way and not tell him that she knows for a while. Maybe, like in Superman: Doomsday, he may keep denying that he is The Blur. It’s really hard to predict from this cliff hanger because there were so many different ways in the mythology that she found out. Lets just hope they won’t go the original Superman movie way and he super kisses her. Even though I hate that stupid kiss idea, I have to say something to the people who say, “Well when was this one of Superman’s powers?” Kryptonians have thousands and an unlimited source of powers. Superman just does the normal in some mythology:
Heat Vision
X-ray Vision
Super Breath
Super hearing
Etc.
The cliff hanger of “What has happened to Oliver?”
This cliff hanger involved Oliver being kidnapped by what they thought were Kandorian. They were not Kandorian because we hear Oliver say to Chloe that they are not Kandorian. My guess is that he gets a good look at them and notice the unusual look of them. From the numerous clues being given that Darkseid would be season 10’s villain, fans speculated that the kidnappers were Parademons. Or could they be Intergang?
Granny Goodness and possible Female Furies:
When Tess died there was a buff looking old lady sitting outside of her hospital room, knitting. This was the only scene where this old lady appeared. When the doctors leave, she goes in Tess’s room and shuts the door. Well some could be thinking how is Granny Goodness connected to Tess? Tess was part of a group called Check Mate and that group was connected to Apokolips (Darkseid’s home world). Well that group is no more and Tess was one of the survivors that didn’t get killed by Zod that day. Zod had murdered and destroyed the Check Mate organization. Since Tess is a survivor, but now currently dead, Granny will revive her so she might join the Intergang or Female Furies. Granny Goodness always picks one female from other races. Tess is from Earth and Grandma is reviving her. So we can predict that Tess will be trained as a Female Furie or is she already? This could also be a good time to get Kara back and a good story. Have her brainwashed and be apart of the Female Furies since she is a female of the Kryptonian race.
Finally, lastly the end Cliff Hanger:
Again, one of the best scenes Smallville could ever provide. This scene is when he finally defeated Zod and banished (a good banish) all the other Kryptonians to a new planet. It actually has been stated that the planet is "a" New Krypton. Not in Smallville but something close to Smallville. The series of Kara and the Chronicles of Krypton had the story about the Book of Rao. The book of Rao Prophesied that Krypton will live again on a new Krypton. A lot of evil Kryptonians tried to fulfill the prophesy to make earth New Krypton. Also these events happened on Smallville like when Zor-El wanted to repopulate the earth with his brother's wife, Laura-El. Even Jor-El tried to convince Clark to re-populate Earth with "Kara of Krypton", a Kryptonian vessel designed to lure Clark into training. It is unknown if Jor-El genuinely desired to re-populate Earth, or if he merely had "Kara" attempt to seduce Clark as a ploy to begin his training and unite the Stones of Power. I would sit here and explain of all the events with the prophesy but this isn't the article for that. So Zod and Clark had a beautiful, bloody battle. The battle wasn't long but it was sweet. Well when he tricked Zod to stabbing him with the blue Krptonite knife, Clark fell purposely off the edge to get out of range from Zod. The episode ended with Zod being sucked into the portal and Clark falling to his death. People predict he will be saved, may die, or might as well fly. I'm going with him flying because the saved thing has been done and how many times has he died in Smallville? The only way fans would like his death if it was caused by Doomsday. Maybe he will grab the knife out his stomach and right before he hits the surface he will fly. As stated by his father he still considers himself human, it could also be that before Clark can use this ability he needs to accept his destiny and be confident with this power as he has fear of heights which could be a reason why he can't do it just yet. All through that episode Clark has said he knows and accepts his destiny. And he also isn't afraid of heights anymore because he was comfortable doing because he has mimicked flying a few times, making super leaps from building to building, jumping up at great speed onto missiles and off from bridges.
Tell me if I missed any cliff hangers
