Robert Kirkman Talks Season Three, Tying Up Loose Ends, And Adding Fan Favorite Michonne To The Walking Dead

Robert Kirkman recently took time out to talk about AMC's hit television series The Walking Dead, including tying up season two loose ends, excitement, for season three, and adding new characters.

The Walking Dead has only two episodes left until it takes it mid season hiatus. The big story line that needs to wrapped up is finding Sophia. While talking with Zap2It Robert Kirkman teased we might find out what happened to poor little Sophia in the last episode before the hiatus, episode seven by saying, "[I]t is a bigger episode and there are some loose ends tied up, but I wouldn't want to say what just yet. But I will say to keep an eye out for that episode, it's gonna be huge!".

Kirkman also touched on the possibility of new characters being introduced to the series. If new characters are introduced it would likely be when the show returns from hiatus on February 12 of next year. Said Kirkman, "There's definitely a slew of new characters that are going to be introduced after the hiatus. I wouldn't want to say who they are. They may be original to the show. They may be from the comic. I can't really say, but there are going to be some new faces coming up." One of the characters that we will definitely see, if not this season really soon, is the Samurai sword carrying Michonne. "She was introduced pretty early on in Vol. 4 of the comic books," says Kirkman. "Whether we'll move that up or have it happen at a later date, we haven't figured out. But I will say that she's definitely going to be in the show eventually."

The crew is already looking at story lines for next season as well, which excites Kirkman. "We're very excited for the third season because there's a lot of really cool stuff coming up in the story line that is going to be a lot of fun to adapt." He didn't elaborate on what stories they will be adapting, but it looks like there is some exciting stuff on the horizon for AMC's hit show.

You can catch The Walking Dead Sunday's at 9 P.M. Est on AMC.

I loved the first season. I can't get into the second one, for some reason, though.

Agreed @Dane. Need Tyreese. Looks like Daryll is filling in that spot but I still want Tyreese in this show. Him and Michonne. Only other two I could think of would be the Governor and Abraham that need to be in this show.

I think once they are booted out of here we will get more characters. The Barn scene could end very tragic for a number of characters. We'll need more to plug in the holes. hahaha

Apparently they have some guy confirmed in the show who looks just like Tyreese who is probably playing him and probably one of the characters to be on the show
