Russel Brand looks just like Eric Draven, but he probably can't act well enough to be convincing.

I sure hope Norrington gets back in the director's chair. I'd love for his gritty take on The Crow. As bad as LXG was, Blade was pretty damn near perfect, not to mention ideal for The Crow's style.

Rustyham- Brand shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the set of that movie.

I love the original Crow. I have a mixed reaction about this. Do you guys know if they plan on remaking the original? If that's the case, I hope it never gets made. The original Crow is one movie that shouldn't be redone.

RorMachine- It's weird how they've screwed everything so... so much, AFTER having gotten THE perfect blueprint to follow. I mean, how can you get it so wrong after Proyas showed you exactly how you can make it right? [frick]s indeed.

Just not a storu about Eric Draven PLEASE!!!

The great thing about the crow is there isn't just one person! Each avatar is different and has differnt tragedies and reason for their ressurection. WHy can't that be done well?

HONESTLY, THEY REALLY SHOULDN'T DO A REMAKE..IF THEY DO DO A CROW MOVIE, FOR PETE'S SAKE AT LEAST CHANGE THE NAME FROM ERIC DRAVEN TO SOMETHING ELSE, LET BRANDON LEE HAVE THAT ..REST HIS SOUL..

I COULD SEE THEM DO SOMETHING LOOKING MORE THIKE THE GRAPHIC NOVEL CHARACTER

I'M ALL FOR IT, GRANTED THEY DO IT RIGHT, GRITTY HARD R AND WITH A GOOD SOLID STORY.

Im sorry but I am still not for this remake at all. I think its a huge slap in the face to the fans and Brandon Lee's name.

i understand using the storyline from the Crow to make a new movie. however, it should be treated like the lame ass sequels were. make the main character someone who is NOT Eric Draven.

give the guy a new name and back story, but keep the same premise to the story, and you can make a new Crow movie, without pissing on Brandon Lee's grave.

not only that, but realistically, anyone casted as a potential Eric Draven would be instantly compared to Brandon Lee, and the comparisons won't hold up.

Joseph Gordon Levitt for the new version of The Crow.

I'm for a remake, but as others said only if it's Not an Eric Draven character.
Though comparisons are generally made no matter the circumstances, I believe comic movies should creatively be perceived as such: Comics. All comic series have different writers, artists AND above all different renderings of the characters. No Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker etc look the same. No writer or artist has the same physical or emotional view of a character.
So, mainly, this movie will have a better chance of being successful (With The Fans!!) if they do not use Eric Draven. It will be a bit insulting to Brandon Lee if they use that character name.

Otherwise, for the time being, we should take this lightly & hope Hollywood has finally learned that any remake/adaptation has to be just as good as (if not better than & with respect to) any source material. I'd like to think they have but can never be sure.
(I mean seriously, how was the crow with the dude from Terminator 2 ((can't remember his name)) even allowed to be made!!! Such Blasphemy!! And Tito Ortiz?!?! Really????)

I can't say how bad an idea a remake of the Crow is. The first movie is one of the greatest vengeance films ever and I don't want to be touched. The Crow is a character with limitless possibilities and many stories could be made of it. Heck I wrote a Crow fan fic a while back. They could have anybody come back for vengeace and you don't even need to have it based on a comic.

Also Ian Somerhalder or Cillian Murphy are my choices for the next Crow.

If they want to remake The Crow, make it about a new character, not Eric Draven.

@MisterNiceGuy I know, he was a great actor and person. He was a lot like his father. Such a tragedy.

I heard he would have went on to play Neo and Johnny Cage.

Somerhalder wouldn't be good. Stop just going off looks. He needs more acting classes for a few years. Cillian Murphy is better.

@DoctorSnide - Ian Somerhalder would be great as The Crow. He is a good actor and he has that creepy look.

@SUPERBATSPIDERMAN Cillian Murphy is a great choice.
@rankster1028 JGL is another great choice.
I think Sebastian Stan would be a nice pick for the role.
