The events on DC's new 52 was set in motion by what took place in Geoff Johns' Flashpoint series. The story centers around Barry Allen with help from Bruce Wayne's father Thomas. While talking with Comic Book Club Kevin Conroy revealed that he is currently working on a Flashpoint DC Animated movie. "Oh I just, just last night, I recording a new animated movie...that features The Flash, it's more about The Flash, but Batman is in it as well. It's a Flash...Flashpoint! Flashpoint? I think it's Flashpoint," said the famous voice actor. There were no additional details given about the project, but be on the look out for the announcement soon.

Flashpoint was released in 2011 and was written by Geoff Johns with art done by Andy Kubert. The story shows The Flash(Barry Allen) waking up in an alternate time, where nothing seems to be right his mother is alive, his father is dead, there is no Superman or Justice League, and Citizen Cold is Central City's greatest hero. After discovering that Reverse Flash is behind everything The Flash enlists the help of Batman(Thomas Wayne) to help him set the events of time right. While doing this Flash meets a mystrious hooded figure who urges him to merge the DC, Vertigo, and Wildstorm universe creating DC's New 52. No word yet on when the official announcement will come or how faithfully it will follow the comic books, but make sure you check here at CBM for the latest.

Funny that I was thinking that DC should make a Flash animated movie, just a couple of hours ago. And, although I'd prefer it to focus ONLY on The Flash himself (Flashpoint still puts a lot of focus on the universe as a whole, correct?); so that I can know more about the character, this should be interesting.

Anyway, could this be a way to introduce the New 52 to the animated movies universe?

Think WB will cool off on the Batman for just a little bit?

I mean, you've got Batman in Justice League Doom, Batman in Young Justice, Batman in The Dark Knight Rises, Batman in not one, but a two-part The Dark Knight Returns movie, Batman in Flashpoint and Batman in Beware the Batman.

Flashpoint is focus mainly on Flash! so Conroy is voicing Thomas Wayne? so let me guess after Flashpoint animated movie , a NEW 52 Justice league movie vs Darkseid?

met him once a comic show. 'highly personable and a real class act. he deserves any and all success he receives; plus his Batman / Bruce Wayne is without peer.

It would be a smart move to do, but I think they're still missing some key comics they should Animate, like Knightfall or Hush and even Infinite Crisis. If they skip straight to the New 52, it could complicate things.

Hopefully it will be like Under the Red Hood a okay comic that was turned into a great film because it was streamlined. There is allot of Flashpoint that should be taken out but leave the heart of Barry Allen and Thomas Wayne working together to correct the timeline.

I think BlueMex hit it on the head! Flashpoint then a new 52 JL vs Darkseid. I can't really see the point of doing a Flashpoint animated film though. Unless they're doing one that's based on the DCAU as established in Batman:TAs, Superman:TAS, Beyond and JL/JLU. THAT would rock!!

In cae you haven't had enough of Geoff Johns' amateurish writing crapping all over the DC characters, now we get an animated version. Joy!
BlueMex
BlueMex - 4/25/2012, 11:52 AM
@novaPrime- i think the closest shazam we got was the mini movie superman/shazam vs black adam. same goes for Green Arrow showcase, but if done right do a supermax story trap in prison with all the villians. I highly agree on your Greenlantern moves. sinestro corps into blackest night.
