EXCLUSIVE: Warner Brothers Kicking Around The Idea Of Using LOBO In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Recently the only Justice League movie news we have been getting is who may or may not be directing the movie, but it seems that Warner Brothers might be looking to amp up the story by including Lobo.

Warner Brothers is going to be looking to get the most bang for their buck when they finally get around to producing a Justice League movie. A while back I reported to you that DC will be working towards a shared universe with their next film, Man Of Steel. The Justice League film is said to bring DC Comics all-stars such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern together on the big screen. However, there might be one name added to the list. According to my source Warner Brothers is tossing around the idea of including Lobo in the film, that Will Beall is currently writing. It has not been disclosed whether or not Lobo would help or fight the League, but having them in there is sure to please some fans. This would not be a total shocker since they are currently developing a Lobo film with Brad Peyton handling writing and directing duties along with having Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson interested in playing the title character.

Keep in mind this is only in the brainstorming stage at the moment so it is not a done deal, and there is a possibility they may not decide to do it at all. There is currently no timetable on the Lobo project, but WB is wanting to get Justice League off the ground for a 2015 release date so it very well could be before then. Darkseid should be the villain in the JL film. Lobo would be interesting, but I don't know if id want him playing a substantial role.

I wouldn't mind seeing him, as long as he wasn't actually a member of the League.

Still don't get why they're developing a Lobo movie whilst they could be working on a Wonder Woman or Flash movie.
This just seems like such a misdirection.

The best choice for Lobo would be Mickey Rourke.

The Rock could be okay though.

No Rock please. Can't get any cheesier than him.

Lobo yes! Just someone else.

Once again WB is misusing the DC comics again, and developing stories that are less interesting. Why Lobo? As OwenWilsonNose just stated, Darkseid would be the perfect candidate to promote the JL movie.

Another idea could be that one of the other members (Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc.) could bring an enemy that would essentially force the heroes to band together in order to fight off this threat the would affect the globe and not just one part of the world.

Here is just a small idea of what I'm referring to: Let's say they create a Wonder Woman movie with Aries being the villain, in a JL movie perhaps the battle within Wonder Woman's domain escalates to the point where Aries escapes into our reality and brings a force from outside onto the planet the forces all the heroes to meet in one location to fend off the threat that Aries brings to earth...

Just an idea like could work...

They should stop this nonsense and do a villain like LEGION for the first movie. It has to be a movie where the badguys don't matter much but the character development is the center of it all. Then you bring in the bid baddies.

i could see him playing a coulson sort of role. in the sense that each hero has an interaction with him that leads to them uniting. but he's not the central focus.

lobo is great but i think he deserves his own franchise. use him to explore the outer reaches of the DC universe.

Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Gerard Butler, many good actors could do him justice (LEAGUE!)

I'm just gonna ignore JLA news until WB stops effing around and shows that they're serious about the project. The problem is that, unlike Marvel/Disney, WB execs have no respect for their properties beyond Batman and Superman. That's why they aren't giving their heroes respectful treatment.

You have to Tease Darkseid in the first JL movie. If you have him right away, who could top him in the sequel? So much like Avengers but it can work. Just getting all the characters on the big screen will be hard enough without lead up films while doing the biggest baddie there is without ruining it. Lobo is fine. I'm more worried about Wonder Woman and Bats. Do WW wrong and it'll be 10 years before they try again. As for Bats? Please give me a detective.

If you're gonna do Lobo do him right and go all out. If they make him a henchman a'la Bane it's gonna suck.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Lobo is one of THE MOST RIDICULOUS characters in comics. A freaking KISS reject/alien with a space bike? Completely unbelievable and unrealistic. If they want an alien antagonist, just go with the reach and introduce blue beetle.

@Nomis1800: Aquaman can come last.

As far as their idea for Lobo goes, I think it would be MUCH better if they make him the bad guy. Putting him on the team doesn't make much sense. It would make it more interesting with him as the villain because it would be different than The Avengers, you're not using the biggest bad guy as the first villain, and if written right, it could be successful. This is coming from a Marvel fan.

I agree with dgabbor, in the sense of having someone orchestrate it. It would make it not as bad as it could have been.

mutantequality@ im game for that. i'm just hoping they don't puss out and keep Reynolds as Hal. even if the movie wasn't that good they told the right story with him and you can still make a good lantern movie with him imho. plus im having a hard time thinking of someone i would like to play bats.

I see Lobo being the JL's version of the Hulk.

I know a lot of you don't like the idea and was expecting someone like Darkseid or some big baddie like that, but you have to keep in mind the significance of a character like Lobo being featured in a Justice League film. Lobo's first appearance on Earth in the comics was actually to take out the newly formed Justice League under a contract by Magna Khan so having him appear in the movie would be in keeping with the comics. I don't know how important using Magna Khan in the film would be, but you could certainly hint that a character like Darkseid is ultimately behind the whole thing and you could plan to have him make an appearance in a later film. Meanwhile you get to expose Lobo to moviegoers who might take a liking to him and you never know, it may give buzz to a Lobo spin-off film.
